That is to say, a definition of truth as strict non-contradicion (in the Aristotelian and modern positivistic traditions) is less widely applicable that an Aquinean definition which takes into account the adequateness of veracity, i.e. relative to its context. Another tid-bit -- one of my teachers back at PCOM had a useful saying learned from one of her teachers (in Western bio-medicine): " Never say 'never'. Say 'seldom, if ever'. I did want to point out however that I was responding to another type of 'never', which is 'never to use moxa in phlegm diseases'.
