Guest guest
Hi everybody Because this is very important with respect to making this a safe group where everyone can share, I did a google search concerning guidelines for web group discussions and found this interesting link that I think we should all read and consider. The information is taken from the work of David Bohm, the renowned quantum physicist. I think this might give us some food for thought and much needed guidelines with respect to " getting things done " here on this group. I think that deep down, we all have the same goals. The name of the site is www.thedialoguegrouponline.com Go to " what is dialogue " to get to the meat of the matter. Bohm has always been one of my favorites and now I know why!! Thanks, Shanna
Guest guest
Shanna and All, Wonderful website. Also Bohn's suggestions for how to dialogue are wonderfully rigorous and insightful. I particularly love his " assumption identification " . In the art world (including poetry), we often talk about overcoming " recognition " in order to " see " . Identifying and presenting subtexts can be useful in weaving the building blocks of a good dialogue. I can't thank you enough, Shanna. I plan to print this out for my own use in the classroom setting. I'm with my students for a straight nine months during the regular academic year, so learning what dialogue is from the early part of the endeavor will be quite useful. I don't find the URL or link in your message. (I know David Bohm from his book -- The Implicate Order)
Guest guest
Hi Chris The URL is http://www.thedialoguegrouponline.com There are, I think, 3 references at the end of David Bohm's work with dialogue and flow of meaning. The authors differentiate between dialogue and discussion on the site. I'm not sure we are actually after dialogue here at TCMgroup but it seems like a good idea to me. Let me/us know what you think.
