Guest guest
Hi all, Taken from: http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/uknews/news20040824.shtml#1 Scientists from the US department for agriculture led by Agnes Rimando suggested yesterday that eating blueberries might help prevent clogged arteries, heart disease and obesity. The fruit contains a compound, pterostilbene, similar in effect to drugs used to reduce cholesterol. Most papers' science and health correspondents report on the research which was delivered to the American Chemical Society's conference in Philadelphia. This study adds to a growing list of health benefits attributed to the fruit including protection against ageing and cancer, in addition to acting as a memory booster.
