Cutting the amount of hormone therapy given for prostate cancer can reduce the death rate by half, say researchers at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston. The research is published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. A new vaccine that targets proteins in human papillomavirus may protect against cervical cancer according to research published in the Journal of Virology. The new vaccine stimulates the immune system to attack protein E6, a component of HPV that causes cells in the cervix to become malignant.
