Too many working alone, it holds us all back.< I was an apprentice for 15 years and i currently take both apprentices and externs into my practice. Every year one or two LAc come and sit clinic with me for a week or two. Much falls through the cracks in a school setting and they use my experience as a tool to learn more. OTOH i recognize deficiencies in the way i was trained as well. We must study the classics to gain our base. We must learn from lineages in a hands on way to retain the little details of practice that are not addressed in the classics or in most schools. The best is to create a blend with much more clinical time than is now given. One of the LAc in my clinic went to school for 4 years AND spent 8 hrs every week and all of her breaks in my clinic as an intern/apprentice. IMHO she has the best of both worlds and i believe her to potentialy be a far better practitioner than i. She only lacks the experience and that is just a matter of time.
