Thyroid atrophy is common enough. Click on

However, thyroid scarring seems to be rare. It can arise after

treatment with I-131, and in Hashimoto's thyroiditis and

autoimmune thyroid disease.

 

I was unable to find Medline references to thyroid scarring or

fibrosis or sclerosis after thyroid replacement therapy.

 

Do any other Listers have references to that?
