YL Creeping In?? ** Was: RDT - UK therapists?

I see that folks say YL/RDT has made it to the UK. Your post reminded me

of something I probably need to pass along that can be food for thought

in those countries that might yet be " targeted " by Young Living.

Three, maybe four years ago .. I received an email or flyer (I can't

recall which) inviting me to a dinner at a fancy Istanbul hotel. Was

gonna be a couple of months from then and I guess they were doing PR

ahead of time. Purpose was introduction of Young Living to Turkey.

 

The POC for this was listed as the manager or whatever of Turkey .. the

minor details are not important and I'm not gonna try to strain my brain

to recall such trivia. The main points are still very clear to me.

 

I was both surprised and angered because it had been a short while since

I had written a scorching expose of Gary Young's far from true tales of

exploits amongst the educated and famous here. He had a posted as part

of his biography on his site, tales of close coordination/cooperation

with the leading professors here - including Professor Dr. K. Husnu Can

Baser, Director of the Aromatic and Medicinal Plant and Drug Research

Center. Better yet .. I'll just post that one again .. to heck with

depending on memory .. ;-p

 

Anyway .. I called the lady in Istanbul and said something like, " Are

you crazy? " And the conversation went downhill from there. I sent her

dozens and dozens of posts on YL, GY and RDT .. told her to read them

over and make sure she wanted to get involved with such a company.

 

Called her back a day or so later .. and she said she hadn't had time to

read what I sent as she was working to get things organized for the

function. I read her words as meaning " To Hell With You Boy, " and took

it as a challenge worthy of my efforts.

 

I called friends in various Ministries .. Health, Social Security,

Commerce, Forestry (controls wild aromatic plant harvesting) .. and

others in Departments like Import/Export, Foreign Investment Branch of

the Treasury (controls creation of foreign-based companies in Turkey)

and others .. to include high-ranking military friends. Basically, I

told them that America was plagued with YL now and I didn't think we

needed that crap here .. told'em the downsides as I saw it .. told'em YL

uses " independent distributors " and so there would be no advantage to

Turkey as tracking their income for taxation would be next to impossible

and there would be no requirement for payroll taxes or social security

to be paid by YL or the independent distributors. Reminded'em that the

American peasant (Americans hate this term but I had to use it to get

them on the same sheet of music .. it is NOT a detrimental term in most

of the world) was far more sophisticated than the average Turk peasant

and still, they fell for such shenagans from YL .. and the Turk had no

chance because they are heavy into following gurus and healers. Also

told them YL leaned heavy on Christianity to mesmerize their followers.

Turkey is SERIOUSLY secular to the point of having criminal law against

ANY form of proselytizing .. be you Moslem, Christian, Jewish, whatever

and separation of religion, state and commerce is MANDATORY!!

 

What came out of my efforts was exactly what I planned when I decided to

devote the time ... I made them aware of problems, collected vibes that

if what I was telling them was correct, they would not be pleased to see

something like this go down in Turkey. And ... if application was made

for such a venture, they would look deeply into it and come to me for

more information if/when that happened. That was no more or no less

than what I expected .. and it was sufficient.

 

I called the lady in Istanbul and told her what I had done - she was

pissed and asked me why I was interfering .. which pissed me off and

only served to temper my resolve. I told her that selling YL products

was not gonna be easy here because I would ensure that all regulatory

agencies were aware of the problems we had in America .. that I would

work tirelessly to ensure this and if I failed, I would then work just

as hard to educate the public through the media (which I have very good

relations with) .. and recommended she drop the idea now before she got

more negative publicity than I figured she wanted.

 

To make a longer story shorter, the dinner/introduction never went down

and YL is not selling a damn thing here in Turkey today. I am totally

convinced that if they had proceeded with their plans, I could have been

successful in preventing them from gaining a foot hold here in Turkey.

I know Turkish law and I know Turkish politics and I know YL .. all the

advantages were mine.

 

Something to think about if you receive such a notice in your country.

All I've heard is from a small snippet in our Association Journal which warns

ahout Raindrop Therapy being introduced here from USA - but I'll keep an eye out
