Guest guest
Hi, everyone! I just wanted to share today's adventures. I went to my local bottle wholesaler to pick up some bottles, and, while waiting for the order to be pulled, a customer came in to also pick up supplies. We started conversing and it turns out that he is the inventor of " Lice Be Gone " and other personal care products that are sold nationally! One topic we spoke about was targeting our customer base - he is single and designed his labels from his own viewpoint. It took him several years to realize that his designs were not attracting the real buyers of personal care products - WOMEN. Being a man, he used what he liked. Wrong!!! You go with the market. After changing his labels to a more feminine design, his sales more than doubled. Well, he could have asked any of us about attracting a buyer's attention and we would have all told him that WOMEN are the majority buyers. ..Then I made my round of thrift stores and you'll never guess what I found! Two boxes of 1 oz amber bottles (total 144), with droppers!!! Because I had a special punchcard redeemable for a buy one get one free discount, all 144 of them cost $2.99, or 2+ cents each!!! Luckily I didn't buy any 1 oz amber bottles from the wholesaler. I usually don't get too excited about my daily activities but today has not been normal. The lessons to be learned are: (1) you never know who you are talking to, and (2) you never know what you'll find at the thrift stores.
