That is VERY scary that a published soap making book got Soap Making

Safety Rule #1 WRONG!

Think of the chemical reaction with the lye and water this way folks

..... It is a violent reaction, like that of a volcano ... but a volcano

erupting on land is going to spew a lot more " shrapnel " into the air

than the one that erupts under the sea! Water contains the violent

reaction better than air can. ALWAYS add your lye to the water .. NEVER

the other way around.
