Hi y'all,

This was posted to the Idma List yesterday. It is but a SMALL part of

the research conducted on Oregano .. but it'll interest you maybe.

" Here is the information from Allure magazine, as promised. I hope it

makes it to the list, but the list seems to be 'down' again, no?

Allure/April 2002 p. 108 on the Food News Page

Oil from the common herb oregano is a powerful natural antidote to

dangerous bacteria. In studies by Georgetown University physiology

professor Harry Preuss, it inhibited the growth of Staphyiococcus

(staph) bacteria in a test tube as effectively as antibiotics. Mice

infected with staph and the fungus Candida albicans also had much better

survival rates when fed oregano oil (a variety known as Oreganol P73).

The essential oil, which is sold at health stores and online, is not

found in significant amounts in fresh or dried oregano. In a 1998

Cornell University study, oregano oil was found to destroy E. coli,

salmonella, and even anthrax. Preuss says that it may be effective when

either applied to skin or taken orally, but further study is needed. "

Now that last statement .. further study is needed. You're gonna get

that on almost any EO and most herbs .. you and your children and likely

your grandchildren are gonna get it. Why? Because we are not gonna see

the FDA, AMA and mega-buck, multi-national pharmaceutical companies go

along with approval of natural products .. the pharmaceutical companies

would loose too much and the doctors would loose the kickbacks they get

from the pharmaceutical companies. FDA would upset the pharmaceutical

companies and they might stop doing research for the FDA,

The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) has published

data on many occasions reference the number of deaths in the USA due to

medications and malpractice .. it runs in the tens of thousands each

year .. according to JAMA. The British journals report similar results.

Let somebody go under from a natural product and it'll get as much press

as a massacre in a shopping mall.

Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
