I went to my buds on the newsgroup newsguy.general and within a few hours had lots of savvy computer guys answer. Basically, it's a javascript popup that only shows you what your IP is within your computer. Still, you should be using a good firewall like Zone Alarm. I've used the 'stealth 'probe my ports' program on grc.com and it consistently shows my computer is invisible on the internet. To read more, go to newsguy.general and look for the thread on " Who are these freaks at bonzi.com? " You can read it via google, I believe, if your ISP doesn't carry newsguy NGs. http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady ©
Guest guest
A bit alarmist, though it's true that someone who knows what they're doing could gain access to the data on your computer. To prevent that happening you need an effective firewall. ZoneAlarm is highly thought of and has a free version which you can download from www.zonelabs.com . Guest guest
I got this too when I was signing on to a list. It was a company trying to sell you protect. I got it and I have a physical firewall that I know it couldn't breach. So it's just a bunch of annoying pop up boxes trying to sell something.
