Guest guest
A friend from a newsgroup wrote me about this bad experience. I'm sure it's the cinnamon oil. Can anyone recommend someting to soothe her mouth? I recommended salt/warm water rinses, aloe vera rinse, slippery elm bark rinse (might be hard for her to get that one.) I'm sorry for this intrusion, but I have a question for you! I seem to >remember you posting something on >AF about cinnamon oil being a potential irritant. Guest guest
Owie Zowie! I use that flavor/brand of toothpaste too and while it tingles my mouth I haven't had that issue (and I can't use any kind of " regular/commercial " toothpastes cause it BURNS my mouth while I'm brushing) I'd suggest she steer clear of cinnamon mouthwashes and gums too to be on the safe side! Her body chemistry and oral use of any cinnamon oil apparently do NOT mix well. A mouthwash of Slippery Elm and Marshmallow Root are what come to my mind as they are both very soothing and both possess abundant mucilage . maybe even adding Comfrey (to heal the delicate tissue) would be beneficial. Also, I'd use the mouthwash lukewarm, not hot or cold (avoiding temperature extremes right now would be prudent). I've also seen Blue Spruce, Sorrell and Watercress suggested for mouth ulcers in general. I hope she feels better soon! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Anya [mccoy] Tuesday, September 24, 2002 1:35 PM ATFE ; aromatherapy; Sore mouth from cinnamint toothpaste A friend from a newsgroup wrote me about this bad experience.
