Guest guest
I am not familiar with the Renzulli method of teaching. The way it sounds, it is a 'no duh' category. I used to spend a lot of time helping my kids study. We would have spelling bees when doing dishes and I sat up late many a night with my oldest son even when he was going to Jr. College. Helped a 'little' when he came home for a weekend from Iowa State. He acquired his BS from Iowa State and his MS from Michigan state. Helped my other two also--my other son is now head of the photo department at Winnebago and my daughter could substitute teach but has a day care instead. She could'nt stand leaving her first child at a day care to she started her own. Today, I can really appreciate the time spent--very special memories. Common sense should be a separate class instead of going by the 'book'. Life just doesn't happen according to any book. I feel goals should possibly be set with parents getting involved. I have learned I can plan as long as I don't plan the outcome. Otherwise there could be a lot of disappointments. I just have had a major problem with myself reaching some of my past goals cuz I never seemed satisfied and felt I should have done more. I think perfectionizm fits in here!!! That has gradually changed also since I am more 'mature' now (LOL). Chris and others on this list are more qualified to answer your next question. I do use jojoba a lot, but there are other good oils to use also depending on what end result you are after. Blessings and love, Effie >We're a dying breed Effie. My kids' public school is talking about bringing in the Renzulli (spelling?) method of teaching. The method states that all kids excel in all subjects at different times in different areas. I think that's the 'no duh' category isn't it??? I KNEW that because that was a given when I was growing up. Too many kids today have a lot of book sense and no common sense. Translates into not understanding the concept of hard work is priceless. Parents working so damn hard to get out of the laboring jobs that they've forgotten to pass on the value learned there. So few people can appreciate true hard work anymore. Sometimes the blessings of modern America can be a curse too. > >Anyway, I have another question. Straight EOs should never be used on a person, right? I think I understand correctly when I say that jojoba oil is a good oil for minimizing allergic reactions (just from the carrier). Would an allergic reaction to an EO in a carrier oil applied topically appear the same as any other allergic reaction to anything? I.E. among the symptoms could be hives, rash, itching OR is there anything specific and particular to EOs? > >Being new to this if I've phrased this question in a way that doesn't make sense please feel free to tell me so. I've got a thick hide and know the value of shutting up and opening my ears to the answers. > >Thanks in advance >Dale > > >
