Guest guest
I loved the Hydrosol discussions. I just received my first hydrosols this week and was investigating all the back posts on this subject. So this is very timely for me. OK - my question. If you rebottle hydrosol for a gift, do you put on the label " Refrigerate for longer shelf life " ? Using just a 4 oz. bottle unrefrigerated, would it more than likely be used before it " bites the dust? " I'm a newbie, and it is so much fun learning. Thank you all for sharing so much. Guest guest
Bobbye, hehehe - someone besides Butch and myself read those posts.... great! Just joking really. When you rebottle hydrosols you must be very careful to not contaminate them. Make sure the bottle is amber glass, it has been sterilized (dishwasher), that you do not touch the inside of the cap or the lip of the bottle. Having said that, if I were going to give it as a gift, I personally would tell them to refrigerate it unless, like Butch said they have a nice cold room to store it in. I live in Alaska and have a nice cold room - one that I do not heat except in below 32 degrees farenheit temperatures. That is where I keep my essential oils, absolutes, hydrosols etc. Even then I have one of those small refridgerators in there (dorm size) that I use for my hydrosols, and most of my other oils. Hope this helps and if I am incorrect or missed something someone hopefully will correct me. Take care, Cheryl Smith Anchorage AK Web Hosting - Let the expert host your site http://webhosting.
