Guest guest
Okay, Here it is First, do a sitz bath (with lavender oil dispersed in milk is best) for 5-15 minutes - to relax vaginal walls and make the skin easier to work with. Then use a massage blend composed of 2 drops of lavender EO, 1 drop of geranium EO, and 1/2 ounce of wheat germ oil in 2 oz sweet almond oil To do the massage: For optimum results this massage should be done for 5 - 10 minutes every day starting about 4-6 weeks before the birth. Insert two well-washed index fingers or thumbs into the vagina just enough to stretch the perineal tissue, press the vaginal wall back toward the rectum. Massage in a U-shaped motion stretching the vaginal open for between 20 and 60 seconds, or until a tingling or slight burning sensation is felt, then release. This is a mild version of what will be felt with the crowning of baby's head during delivery. Also note: The episiotomy record of the midwife, or OB who is delivering the baby makes a BIG difference. One with a high episiotomy rate will no doubt be more likely to cut, or have tears happen in their care, than one with a lower rate. There is a bit of skill and " art " to delivering a baby Good luck to your friend! May her baby's birth experience be safe, healthy and WONDERFUL for her and the baby! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
