Guest guest
Happy Friday Everyone! Even though its REALLY cold in most of the US now, its about that time of year we start talking about getting our gardens together for spring. It is amazing how fast the growing season comes along. I am ready to go through the catalogs, place orders and start growing goodies on my window sills I was wondering if anyone has favorite places to get their heirloom seeds from and medicinal plant seeds from (or even places that ship live plants)? I am putting together a list of some of the places I enjoy getting my seeds from and I'll share them as soon as I am ready. Have a great weekend folks! *Smile* Chris (list mom) FREE Salt! Guest guest
Hi Chris, Here are a few places recommended by my herbal medicine instructor. Peaceful Valley Farm Supply in Grass Valley, CA http://www.groworganic.com Horizon Herbs Seed Farm Williams, OR http://www.chatlink.com/~herbseed/ #1 favorite -- Forest Farm Williams, OR for live plants --their hard copy catalog is 528 pages long! http://www.forestfarm.com/ Roots & Rhizomes, Randolph, WI http://www.rootsrhizomes.com/hello.cfm And, of course, Richters http://www.richters.com/ Jeanine > > I was wondering if anyone has favorite places to get their heirloom > seeds from and medicinal plant seeds from (or even places > that ship live > plants)? > > I am putting together a list of some of the places I enjoy > getting my > seeds from and I'll share them as soon as I am ready. > > Have a great weekend folks! > > *Smile* > Chris (list mom) > > FREE Salt! Guest guest
Here is a list I found with a lot of links! http://www.greenpeople.org/seeds.htm Maybe (just a thought) we can get some kind of seed (or plant) swap going on for spring. I know with baby coming I'll definitely need help organizing and following through with that one, but it still sounds like a nice idea ... I LOVE to swap seeds and when you spend that extra cash for a pack of heirloom/organic seeds and still get more seeds than one can possibly plant in a season or 5, it makes sense to swap *Smile* Chris (list mom) <http://www.alittleolfactory.com> http://www.alittleolfactory.com .... favorite places to get their heirloom seeds from and medicinal plant seeds from (or even places that ship live plants)
Guest guest
Happy Friday to you too, I recently met the owners of the The Thyme Garden Herb Company here in Oregon. They are neat people and I am excited to buy their live plants this year. I am not going to try seeds unless it's calendula and easy. lol And they do ship live plants too. They do a lot of organic seed which is cool. Anyway, the addy is: http://www.thymegarden.com Have a great weekend everyone! Guest guest
I am a big fan of Wally Hansen's nursery in Oregon. He sells a variety of plants native to the Northwest: http://www.nwplants.com/.
