Guest guest
I always wondered about the cow's milk myself Michael..it just doesn't make sense!! I can't bring myself to drink it either. I was brought up with the stuff...but know better now ;-) - Michael Monday, November 06, 2006 10:20 PM FW: Black Tea - Lipton's, Brooke Bond, Red Label,Luisianne, et al I have tried milk or cream in my tea; but just plain don't prefer it. Mother used milk in her tea often. Humorously- or not- I have never been comfortable with drinking cows milk. As a child I simply did not drink it for the dumb reason kids give " I don't like it. " It was/is my olfactory senses objecting to the smell. But as I got older, I kept thinking " why would a human drink a cows milk? Rats, dogs, cats, pigs, and a host of other creatures give milk to their young. We wouldn't drink rats milk. We wouldn't drink dogs milk. Why them would a human drink cows milk...sincerely? " When my son was young he was breast fed, as I. It is apparently very beneficial for immunity and other reasons for a newborn critter to receive his mothers milk. That makes sense to me. But to drink the milk of another critter just doesn't seem appropriate to me. Having seen how dirty nasty cows can be in pens, and then having read how many PPMs of such tastiness as " puss " is allowed in milk didn't help but to reinforce my personal detestation of bovine milk. ( If you really want to be seen as odd, talk to folks about such things and note their reactions, lol.) More seriously, tea wakes me up far better than coffee did; and I don't have the sick stomach that coffee produces. In the evening tea calms me more effectively and yet gently; more than a glass of wine.
