Guest guest
My typical daily meals go like this. Upon waking.. 6:30 am 1 cup of coffee with milk and two teasp sugar Breakfast 7 am toast with real butter Lunch anything I can grab while trying to nurse the baby - usually a piece of bread with peanut butter or can of raviolis or an apple Snack - usually if there is homemade salsa then I have a half cup of that with a handful of the tortilla chips or a bowl of cereal Dinner - Whatever is on the menu (this is our big meal) like tonight it was gyros with mac n cheese and green beans, yesterday was vegetarian chili with corn chips and cornbread. I cook most of our meals homemade. We bought bananas, apples, avacados, carrots and celery as our fresh produce and within three days it is all gone from the kids and me eating it. It is so hard to be able to eat the fresh fruit and vegetables on a daily basis when its gone before I have money to grocery shopping again. sigh this is seeming like a never ending battle. I am trying so hard to make healthy decissions for my family and it just isn't seem to be working. My 7 year old daughter is hungary from the time she is home from school straight up to even when we are tucking her into bed. She had three xrays this year because she was having accidents poop and pee and they found that she had poop piled up inside up to her bottom rib bone. They had to hold her down and put two suppositories in her then give her this lax stuff she had to drink everyday once a day for three weeks. The first time we took her back her accidents had stopped but her accumulation of bile was worse. So I had to give her something from Walgreens to drink I can't remember the name, she had to drink it once every two days till it was gone, along with the laxative powder again. The third xray showed she was doing much better. and I noticed her appitite decreased. Now it is back to the same frigin fight everyday after school for hours on end till shes asleep " I am hungary mommy " and I know she isn't cause I eat less then her and I am nursing and I am not that hungary. sigh anyway there I go bablin again... my parents fed me worse then I feed my family now and even looking at how I eat on a daily basis seeing it wroten down makes me cry. But we just can't even afford the Total Tonic ingredients...for me to make it. My husband goes off on me when I ask for money to buy the stuff. Guest guest
Deana, It is so hard to change your diet- especially when you are battling a dh who might not get it. I am not perfect and have MANY things to work on. From the classes at the School of Natural Healing, there are a few things in your meals that I see that might be contributing to your lack of bowel movements. (BTW I still do not have 3 a day but much better than before... and I haven't made total tonic (actually haven't looked at the ingredients) because I have been doing some other things that Dr. Christopher reccommended and have been focusing on the foods first). First, I notice the coffee with milk and sugar. Dairy products are mucus forming. Mucus impacts in the bowels and acts as a glue and can cause constipation like the constipation your daughter has been experiencing. Sugar is devoid of nutrition and weakens the immune system. Refined flour and sugar are very mucus forming. Meat (don't know if your gyros or your raviolis have this) can also be harmful to the body. It putrifies in the gut and causes constipation. More dark green leafys might be helpful also. I hope you take this in the spirit that it was intended. I am not perfect. I still occasionally partake of the bad things- like I had a piece of halloween candy and a slice of homemade pizza with a sprinkling of cheese today. But, I eat so little of those things that I think that a taste occasionally isn't going to hurt me KWIM? BTW I know how hard it is to fix healthy meals with little ones. I am nursing my 10.5mo old and I have a 2.5yr old too Marisa Domestic Engineer and Mother of 2 God put Adam and Eve in a Garden NOT a Pharmacy! > > Deana [squeekyme] > Tuesday, November 02, 2004 6:57 PM > herbal remedies > Re: Herbal Remedies - DEANNA / children > > > > > My typical daily meals go like this. > > Upon waking.. 6:30 am 1 cup of coffee with milk and two teasp sugar > > Breakfast 7 am toast with real butter > > Lunch anything I can grab while trying to nurse the baby - usually a > piece of bread with peanut butter or can of raviolis or an apple > > Snack - usually if there is homemade salsa then I have a half cup of > that with a handful of the tortilla chips or a bowl of cereal > > Dinner - Whatever is on the menu (this is our big meal) like tonight it > was gyros with mac n cheese and green beans, yesterday was vegetarian > chili with corn chips and cornbread. > > I cook most of our meals homemade. > > We bought bananas, apples, avacados, carrots and celery as our fresh > produce and within three days it is all gone from the kids and me eating > it. Guest guest
Deanna...You will be able to swing this around with your family. It is just going to take some time. Now I want to comment on your 7 year old who is hungry all the time. My thoughts on it are that she probably IS hungry for nutrients. If her bowels have been sluggish over a long period of time , her little body would not be able to absorb nutients easily . She is hungry for a reason . I had this happen with my youngest son until he started taking total nutrition regularly and ate more sprouted , raw things. It was a trick to switch him over , especially finding things he liked.....Mary O - " Deana " <squeekyme <herbal remedies > Tuesday, November 02, 2004 6:56 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - DEANNA / children > > > My typical daily meals go like this.
