A sunny window will work also....Mary O Lisa de Haas herbal_Remedies Wednesday, November 03, 2004 6:25 AM Herbal Remedies - dehydrator alternative Hi guys, I am doing week 4 and 3 of the cleanse (started today), and optimally I should eat raw vegan food. However, some of the recipes I found which sound just yummy, require dehydration. Can I use an oven instead? And would it still be considered *raw* food if I did? Don't have a dehydrator and right now haven't the funds to buy one.
Guest guest
Hey that sounds like a good idea for me too... I am due to start the program very soon (it just has to come in the mail) and I don't have a dehydrator yet. How long can you have it in the oven at under 100 degrees to still consider it "raw"?Mary Ostrowski <Odesign1 wrote: Lisa....You can use the oven , but keep the temp at 100 degrees, no higher It takes longer to dry this way but your food will have enzymes still alive after the process. Guest guest
In the dehydrating/oven process how do you know how long to leave the foods in there? Also do you just put them on a cookie sheet or do you need a special rack? Thanks. Guest guest
Thanks Mary. So then for a recipe that says to dehydrate for 5-6 hours, how long would I need to keep it in the oven? And is it then still considered a *raw* food? love Lisa - Mary Ostrowski herbal remedies Wednesday, November 03, 2004 4:18 PM Herbal Remedies - LISA /dehydrator alternative Lisa....You can use the oven , but keep the temp at 100 degrees, no higher It takes longer to dry this way but your food will have enzymes still alive after the process.
