Hi there. I dont post much but would love to participate. Im in the

same boat. I recently made a big push to change our diet. Thank

goodness my son loves those ready made veggie burgers and he liked

the soy hotdogs. I like the burgers myself but I need to find another

brand of soy hotdogs. A few days ago I saw my son finally eat 2

pieces of organic baby carrots (raw). I jumped for joy (internally).

You see its been a trying experience to get fruit and veggies passed

my sons lips. I love the stuff and have no problems eating them

lightly steamed or raw. I recently found a recipe for healthy

brownies. If it tastes good I will post the recipe.

Blessings to all.

Hey Deana, I think the food journal is an excellent idea. I lost over 50 lbs last year by modifying my diet. I'm not sure wether your aware of it or not, but you shoulf eat an average of 6 times a day, consuming your first meal within one hour of the time you wake up. Every meal afterward should happen about every four to five hours apart. Now you shouldn't eat just anything cause eating that many times a day whatever you want will put the pounds on. An excellent way of eating healthy is to follow a diet for diabetics. You can of course substitute certain things like real sugar instead of a sugar substitute. That's what I did. and every time I've been to the Dr. for a checkup, he says that I'm healthier than he is. If you want to talk, my address is chantellsterling Hope this helped a little. Deana,Maybe if someone is willing to "buddy" with you on this, you can both get messenger and then you can interact "real-time" throughout the day? Also, if you Have services ( email account) you can write down a journal in your Calendar and you can share your calendar with those peple you chose.Just a couple of thoughts.Sylviaherbal remedies , Deana <squeekyme@c...> wrote:> > I am going to start a food journal today.. but need to have support... > anyone want to join me doing this.. Chantell,

Let me start by saying congratulations on losing over 50lbs, I have been

a visious circle for the last 6 years trying to lose the extra 5 or 6

sizes I put on with no apparent help in site. I am slowly losing it

now. I was 162 at the end of my pregnancy and I am down to 144 so I

guess it is progress.

I will look up the diabetics diet, I also know alot comes from being

raised in a family that had very little healthy food for lack of

knowledge and money. It was easier for my mom to buy $15 worth of

spaghettios and mac and cheese and some canned veggies and not being

able to just buy $15 worth of fresh produce. I know it is not her

fault she did the best she could. But now I need to learn the proper

way of eating so I can show my family and they can carry it on.

hugs

Deana

I found a program called dietorganzer and it is working quite well to

track what I eat and the callories fat carbs, proteins sugars etc.
