Guest guest
I went to the site below that promotes Coconut milk. There are many links there to follow that portray Soy products as being really bad for you and how soy being good for you is just a marketing campaign. What is the consensus out there. I use a lot of soy products, can this be true? I take it by spoon ;-) but a lot of people cook with it, make smoothies with it in them, or use it as a spread (like you mentioned). VCO is Not a junk food in any way. Here is a website that has Great info. :-) http://www.coconutoil.com/ Jan G. SAHM of 8, breastfeeding advocate
Guest guest
I apologize as I wrote about baby soy formula under a different subject. I did not want to give my 7 month old son milk formula and gave soy. Is there another alternative? Is too much soy bad? Thanks --- Joe Anshien <janshien wrote: > > I went to the site below that promotes Coconut milk. > > There are many links there to follow that portray > Soy > products as being really bad for you and how soy > being > good for you is just a marketing campaign. > > What is the consensus out there. Guest guest
Hi Joe, What I know about it is that practically all the soy you get commercially is GMO (genetically modified organism) and therefore is no longer natural. The effects of GMO's are not yet completely known but a lot of us believe it to be changing the genetic makeup of our soil, animals, and our own bodies, which can't be good! Guest guest
Barley formula is great - I had it as a baby and it helps babies sleep through the night. Guest guest
Joe, See the article below by an excellent wholistic doctor that I know personally which explains the problems with soy. Aside from what is stated in there, most soy these days is genetically modified, which you should avoid like the plague, AND Doc has discovered that the whole soy industry is lacking in ethics, and so you don’t know what you’re getting. Here’s the article: SOY DEMINERALIZES BODIES by Dr. Anita Pepi Soybeans contain high levels of phytic acid, a substance which blocks the uptake of minerals in the intestines. Fermentation for a long period is beneficial, and is the only process that will reduce these phytates in soy. Examples of this include soy sauce and miso soup. For example, people who drink soy milk every day run the risk of increased cavities and infection due to calcium loss, anemia due to iron loss, thyroid dysfunction due to iodine loss, and sexual and brain dysfunction due to zinc loss. Soy usage is particularly dangerous for children and pregnant mothers. But this is just the tip of the iceberg regarding soy. Internet users can get more data that includes research studies from all over the world at: Soy Online Service — http://www.soyonlineservice.co.nz/ Weston A. Price Foundation — http://www.westonaprice.org I have been researching soy in my practice now for about two years. One for one, frequent soy users had extensive mineral deficiencies. For this reason, I had to find the most efficient procedure for remineralizing a body so that it takes months instead of years. I have created a “soy-safe” office. As a service to you, there are no supplements for sale in our office that contain soy. Why does America think soy = health? The soy industry spends well over 80 million dollars per year in advertising. One of the results of this marketing is that the food industry adds soy to most packaged, flour-based food and many other pre-prepared foods. You can improve your health simply by avoiding soy and all foods containing it! Bon Appetit! Joe Anshien [janshien] Thursday, January 13, 2005 12:02 PM herbal remedies Herbal Remedies - Soy???
