Peace and Good Health to everyone, I'm a 21 year old college student studying Computer Science currently, just for a short background. My reason for joining this group was because i recently have found a huge passion in maintaning my health and taking care of my body. I became a vegetarian recently (in May 2003). And i haven't regressed one bit. I've been focused on shopping at natural food stores, i haven't taken any pills or prescription medication in a long time. I'm basically striving for perfection, and that would include naturally healing my self as opposed to having it done synthetically by someone trying to fatten their pockets in the process. Ok. Here's my main concern right now. I have a set of questions for anyone with enough Knowledge to help me out if possible. A couple of weeks back, i set up a consultation with an

herbologist. She used schlerology, which is the science of the white part of the eye, to determine that i had a bad kidney filled with toxins. She also noted that i had clogged intestines as well. Now, this is something that I never could have detected on my

own. And ever since i've become a vegetarian, i've been feeling energized and better than i've ever felt before! So feeling as lively as i've been feeling for the most part of the year would have

never led me to know that i had such a problem with my kidney or my intestines.I went on to tell her that a year ago (June 2003), I had ACL surgery on my knee that I suffered from a tear while playing basketball for my college. And she then went on to tell me that according to Chinese medicine, the knee is very closely linked to the functions of the kidney.. I’ve never heard of any such connection, then again, I haven’t exactly studied Chinese medicine either. Does anyone have any

background information on that.?? To continue, the herbologist recommended me to drink a detox tea containing the herbs burdock, yellowdock, milk thistle, cornsilk, and juniper. Along with that, she recommended a smoothie for me containing soymilk, liquid chlorophyll, lecithin, and some strawberries or blueberries. She also told me I should take some Arnica homeopathic medicine to help my knee strengthen itself back, as well as some Acidophilus. She also suggested an Amino Acid supplement as well. Now I’ve gotten everything thus far except for the Amino Acid supplement because I couldn’t find one that fit my need. I’ve been taking the detox tea along with the other herbs for 2 weeks now. By detoxing, she said that it would also help my skin as well. But I ran into a problem last week. My knee, got real real stiff and sore. It happened to be on the day that I took off from the herbs, because according to her with these herbs I should take them 6 days on and 1 day off during each week. It also was cold and snowing on that day in New

York, where I live. Since that day, I’ve been trying to reach the herbologist to ask her if the stiffness I was feeling was something good or bad caused by any of the herbs or not, and I get the sense that she’s reluctant to get back to me because I’ve been asking a lot of questions, and she feels like I should just set up another consultation with her instead. But, the problem is that I don’t have the finances at this time to do so. So all of that leads me here to this to search for some conclusions, suggestions, etc., as to the validity of these herbs and what may have caused this

stiffness in my knee, etc.I go to school down in Miami, and I just arrived back here last Saturday. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could offer some Knowledge on this to me.

Peace to everyone

Hello,

It is of course possible that your detox is producing a healing crisis in the form of the pains in your knee? I am not familiar with what you are taking. I have done the Total Body Cleanse, that you have already been advised about, and so I know that you can experience healing crisis. The TBC does minimize these with the Total Tonic, Echinacea and Total Nutrition you take at the same time. It doesn't sound like your herbologist gave you anything to minimize any such possible crisis. SO perhaps you'd like to take a look in the files on our website, at the Total Body Cleanse, and see if this is something you'd consider doing instead.

Peace Lisa,

I appreciate it. I've been actively searching for the correct way to cleanse my system. I've heard all kinds of theories about fasting, and what methods work and which ones don't work. And i've spoken with doctors who are against fasting. I know there is a correct way to go about cleaning the system out. I just have to continue to educate myself on it. This Total Body Cleanse sounds like a good starting point.

Thanks again.
