Her's is usually around 90 over the high 50's. she has blacked out from it before and everything goes black (but still coherent) several times when she bends over or gets up too quick. any natural ways to help would be appreciated. oh, she does add salt to any foods she can. thanks sherry
Guest guest
Is she a child or an adult? Perhaps her blood circulation is too slow. Does she practice any sport, or exercise daily? This can improve circulation and heart rate. Also, some spices such as cayenne pepper can help. There are other possibilities, but this is what comes to mind right now. Guest guest
There are several considerations that the physician may not have spoken with you and your daughter concerning the condition. Firstly, the adrenals are very often involved, generally these are the primary glands that are under stress when the body is under stress, but the other glands (particularly the thyroid) should also be checked, you can have her do this through a naturopath or an MD who practices Functional Medicine. Another aspect that is involved is hypoglycemia, it is in her interest to assume that she has it (even if the so called symptoms are mild) and to eat regularly and stick with a whole foods diet limiting or better, eliminating white sugar. In terms of supplements her body is probably not assimilating her food optimally (assuming that she has a good diet now), therefore she would do well to take a good whole food vitamin/mineral. Also, powdered vegetable/fruit products are well, the more expensive is juice plus, but there are several at any good whole foods type market as well. The use of herbs from either a Chinese or western perspective would need to be tailored to her particular constitution but Rosemary has a balancing and somewhat rising quality and helps to clear the mind as well. If her energy is low, American Ginseng would be well, and they also have an affinity with adrenal fatigue should this be the case. There are numerous other herbs and supplements, but i would suggest bringing her to someone who practices a more natural based practice within Biomedicine (although a good Acupuncturist would be good as well, but then i'm a bit prejudiced!). Hope this helps, Tymothy Smith, L.Ac. > the doctor is wanting my daughter to take floudrocortisone 0.1 mg for > low blood pressure.
