Guest guest
I have heard many things about Jim Humble's MMS1 protocol and how it can do wonders with teeth. It is very safe and would have to be adapted to your son at his young age. I suggest a Google on it and go from there. Lisa _____ On Behalf Of quinnmusic Monday, November 23, 2009 2:44 PM 2 year old teeth trouble Hi all, my son is 2 years old now and has had trouble with his teeth since he has had them. The two teeth beside the front teeth completly rotted from the inside out and now 6 months after having those taken care of his molars are getting cavities. We eat a very whole foods diet, have a low sugar diet and brush the kids teeth morning and night with a non-fluride toothpaste. It has xylotol instead. I saw the dentist today and he strongly recomends using fluride toothpaste to remineralize and strengthen his baby teeth. He says that my son has very soft teeth and it is probably due to genetics. My daughter has no teeth problems. I have always been as chemical free as possible and I am concerned about introducing fluride to him, on the other hand, I am wanting to strengthen his teeth and to prevent further issues for him. I also give him vitD3 and probiotic each day. Thank you for any advice or recommendations, Elise.
Guest guest
Please give him Staphisagria 30, a homeopathic remedy, three times a day if he is pot bellied and obstinate, and if not then Kreosotum 30 as above. If you fear of pus and pain then Hecklalawa 30, three times a day. Fluoride in tooth paste will not harm him if he doesn't swallow that all. Guest guest
Elise, That's a hard one. Truly i feel for you as there is no clear cause and you live such a good lifestyle besides... The only good thing about fluoride is through direct application (there is no indication for a reduction of carries in municiple water supplies but quite a bit in direct app), in this and this alone it is excellent and in cases like this you may want to go that route, not long term, but at the initial stages such that when he develops his full set they will be strong. You can administer the fluoride in pastes, but there are other ways as well, and none of them need to ingested (there will be a small amount of course, but you can significantly reduce this). I personally never recommend giving herbs to children under 4, but you could definitely focus on diet, giving him chewy things and foods that contain a good amount of trace minerals. To that end, you may want to do digestive stool analysis as he may have a serious mineral deficiency, they are generally moderately priced and any good naturopath or physician who practices functional medicine will be happy to order one for you. You can rub all the acupoints that are generally associated with kidneys as they relate to the teeth in Chinese medicine. In particular the inner ankle, going up along the inner leg. Lastly, one thing that Edgar Cayce suggestive oft for parents was to sweetly talk to your child while he is falling asleep. " you have strong and healthy teeth, your immune system is very good, your kidneys are strong and function wonderfully... " this is also, of course very good. Best of luck with all this, i hope this may have offered a bit of help, Tymothy Smith, L.Ac. > > Hi all, > my son is 2 years old now and has had trouble with his teeth since he has had them. Guest guest
My son was born with transfusion-dependent anemia and all his baby teeth grew out black. All this, despite cooking, pureeing, and jarring the best nutrition possible. We learned that his spleen was filling with blood and, ultimately needed to undergo a Splenectomy. At the time his teeth first came through black, we ended up having all upper and four lower teeth extracted. Today, at age 13, he has all his adult teeth and no cavaties. I'm sharing this in the case it may help in regard to a possible anemia issue. Guest guest
How do you guarantee that a two year old won't swallow the fluoride you put in his mouth? Guest guest
Two of my sons went thru a period where they didn't like toothpaste and one went further to not brushing teeth. Anyway, I used to dip their toothbrush in Act flouride rinse and brush their teeth. I even dipped a thin washcloth in Act and rubbed their teeth sometimes (when they didn't like toothbrushes, sigh). Have to say that their teeth did well on that, surprisingly, at dental visits. My oldest son had problems with his teeth (hadn't used Act) and the dentist did say that problems can be genetic; he himself had sons and one had never had cavities, another had 6, etc. Chris in NC , " quinnmusic " <quinns wrote: > > Hi all, > my son is 2 years old now and has had trouble with his teeth since he has had them. Guest guest
Add virgin coconut oil to his diet and/or make a toothpaste out of it (you can mix it with baking soda to make a paste). The antibacterial properties of the oil directly kills the bacteria responsible for tooth decay. Plus it will give him many other excellent health benefits: http://www.how-to-boost-your-immune-system.com/coconut-oil-benefits.html All the best, Melissa , " quinnmusic " <quinns wrote: > > Hi all, > my son is 2 years old now and has had trouble with his teeth since he has had them. Guest guest
If he still takes the bottle, dont let him fall asleep with it. Does he get enough calcium from milk or yogurt? I understand your concern about fluride, I avoid it myself, but I do use regular toothpaste. I'm an adult, and I understand not wanting to give it to him. Sound like you take really good care of him. Maybe sun would help more than the vitamin supplement. 10 minutes a day, dont know if you close enough to the equator this time of year to get the benefit from it though. Spinach and greens are good for the teeth. Try a little of that. --- On Sat, 11/28/09, MelissaM <melissa_makris wrote: MelissaM <melissa_makris Re: 2 year old teeth trouble Saturday, November 28, 2009, 1:56 PM  Add virgin coconut oil to his diet and/or make a toothpaste out of it (you can mix it with baking soda to make a paste). Guest guest
Avoid synthetic toothpastes as well as synthetic vitamins. Brush his teeth with only a soft twig preferably that of neem or the root of the so called tooth brush tree. Add a pinch of finely ground cumin seeds to the milk or other food or drink twice a day before feeding him. --- On Sun, 29/11/09, MelissaM <melissa_makris wrote: MelissaM <melissa_makris Re: 2 year old teeth trouble Sunday, 29 November, 2009, 12:26 AM  Add virgin coconut oil to his diet and/or make a toothpaste out of it (you can mix it with baking soda to make a paste). Guest guest
Spinach and greens are good for the teeth. Spinach is a great food, but it is NOT good for the teeth! Spinach and its beet-family cousin Swiss Chard are high in oxalic acid. You can literally feel it setting your teeth on edge. That's why spinach is generally served with dairy or sesame seeds. Kale on the other hand is indeed rich in calcium. You say " we have a very whole foods diet " Three cheers for you, we need more families like that. But are there any whole foods you are avoiding? Meat, dairy? Some people do better on a more omnivorous regime. As for the dentist, OF COURSE he recommends fluoride, it's what he knows. Here is another one for you to try. I use this on my aging teeth and it always helps them. Pascalite clay. A thousand uses, internally and externally and it has a pleasant neutral taste. Just make a paste with it and brush your teeth. If he swallows some it will do him good. http://pascalite.com Good luck, it is so frustrating if you do all the right things and still have problems.
