Guest guest
I have several packages of C-blend, similar to essiac often used as a spring tonic or cancer " cure " . I think they are 10 years old. I have looked on the packaging for a date, I cannot find one. Are they safe to use? My hope is that they are simply weaker in the aged state, but I am checking in with you all. I was going to donate them or maybe just brew and use in my household. Thank you in advance

Guest guest
indeed. having a range of ageing herbs myself for a variety of purposes... i would expect that ageing and herbs will be somewhat similar to ageing drugs. as drugs age, their chemical components deteriorate and in the process form other unpredictable compounds. since at a base level everything is some form of chemistry it follows that herbs would be subject to the same process. as also, are we... so then, besides a decrease in potency (and what is the percentage decrease in potency over time for individual herbs?), would the resultant unpredictable compounds pose a seriously plausible risk to your health? , " Farnham Soaps " <beadnmouse wrote: > > I blend my own essiac herbs... and mine are about 3 years old now...
