Guest guest
Hi, I joined the group a couple of weeks ago to augment my education and meet lik-minded people. I am a ND student and have been exploring natural health for many years now. I didn't think I would need the groups thoughts this soon however. First let me say I eat a pretty good diet. I do eat animal protein and red meat. I don't have problems with constipation. I avoid nightshade vegetables because of aceytl choline issues. I am allergic to wheat but supposedly not gluten. I just relapsed with Graves' disease and the ony meds I take are for that. I take a multi slated for adrenals, cal, mg. I have done tons of detoxing the last 2 years and I juice frequently.I never had abdominal problems with wheat, I felt it was triggering my graves disease antibody production. I ate wheat on Friday and started having stomach pain Friday night similiar to period cramps low in my stomach. The next morning I woke up with what appeared to be a nasty bladder infection. I started taking cranberry extract and probiotics and saw immediate relief. By yesterday I was almost better but last night I woke up with what I thought were period cramps. This morning I have had diarrhea and now suddenly I have the worst pain in my side imaginable. It comes in waves with nausea and dry heaves. The only thing I have ate today was some plain yogurt and I just took some more probiotics and cranberry extract. 5 minutes later I was double up on the bathroom floor. In my studies I have read that appendix operations are mostly unneccesary and vowed I would treat mine naturally if I ever had one, but I am about ready to head to the hospital and soon as I track down my wayward husband. I am using a cold compress. Any suggestions? HELP! I may be gone to the ER by the time this goes through moderation, if so I will let you know what happened. THANKS, Monica
Guest guest
Hello everyone! What a painful time that was. It turned out to be kidney stones. I can't believe I have stones even though I have a family history of them. I have a tiny one in my left kidney, 4 tiny ones and 1 -4mm one in my right kidney and the one that is causing the problem is in my lower ureter not far from my bladder. The doc said he can give me a week to try to pass it and then he recommends surgery. I can't have it zapped with sound waves while it is in the ureter. He gave me some samples of the drug FLOMAX a smooth muscle relaxant for prostate problems but he said it may relax the ureter enough to pass the stone. Does anyone know of anything herbal that might do the same thing? Later on, I will be researching what I can do to soften/dissolve/breakup or move the others but my main concern is getting this one out without drugs and without surgery. Does anyone have any suggestions? Bladderwack? Gravelroot? Dandelion? I am thinking these will move the stones but not sure what to try. I started an herbal combination in hopes of breaking up the stones! You are correct that cranberry juice (the real thing) is great for kidney health and it was the first thing I tried as soon as symptoms started.
