I have a friend who is at risk of becoming diabetic, and he is really addicted to sugar. I would like to help him, and besides obviously just getting off sugar, are there herbs that can help with this? I want to send him some help as soon as possible.

Thanks!

I am diabetic and have had much success with Cinnamon and a product by Natural Leaf called Blood Sugar to keep my sugar in check. As far as a sweet tooth is concerned, your friend can have any product made with Splenda and there are many I also recommend the use of Stevia ( a natural sweetner that they can grow). They must test regularly and cut out all white flour ( breads, pasta etc.).

Please note: Splenda is an artificial sweetener and should NOT be used!. For any natural sweetening, use Stevia or organic raw honey.

Actually Lane, I heard this many, many years ago, and successfully applied it myself! It really does work! I found that when I started this, I needed quite a bit of Vit C, at least 2000mg per day, and once my body seemed to get enough, I could reduce the dosage to 500 - 1000 mg per day. These dosages might be different per person, so I guess you'd have to try it out yourself and see what dosage works for you.

Lane,

Have him try Nopal, i have been using it again and found it really

helps reduce my craving for not just sweets but for sugary foods ( i

still crave them, just not as much as before) Has your friend been

diagnosed with Type II or insulin resistance?

I also take a combo of herbs that include Bilberry, Gymnema

Sylvstre, Fenugreek and medicinal mushrooms. WALKING or other

exercise for a half hour is the number 1 thing that anyone will

advise if he is borderline or Type II for reducing weight and

keeping insulin in check.
