Guest guest
As punishment for speaking out against the mainstream medical and pharmaceutical industries you are sentenced to participate in a reality TV series with 10 other participants from various backgrounds and dietary interests. You must live on a desert island for 2 years. You will not be given any medical care. You can withdraw at any time and take a losing position in the game. You are all in reasonably good (and similar) health, but all your vital signs will be taken before you are dumped on the island and will be checked again when you leave. Whoever maintains the best health wins and gets a regular spot on Oprah most likely leading to their own national talk show and book deal, but the losers have to lobby for the pharmaceutical industry for the next 8 years. Pure water, coconuts, and wild onions are on the island. You will receive bi-weekly shipments of 10 foods of your choice (in the quantities and form that you designate - anything from herb tea to Lean Cuisine). No changes are allowed after you make your initial selection of foods (the same 10 foods for the 2 year period), but you can designate quantities or proportions for each item. No food sharing is allowed with other participants. Fishing is prohibited and automatically forfeits the win. All other provisions (clothes, tent, sleeping bag, camp cookstove, kitchen utensils, storage jars, etc.)will be provided plus you can select one electrical appliance for your use alone. What are the 10 food items you will select for the 2 years? What is the one electric appliance? Karen PS - someone asked the old question - if you were stranded on a desert island and could only have 3 foods with no health consequences- what would they be. It got me thinking ... <s>
Guest guest
Appliance : I would pick a blender. Foods: 1. Organic Eggs 2. Total Nutrition 3. Total Tonic 4. Organic Cayenne Peppers 5. Organic Spinach 6. Organic Fuji Apples 7. Organic/Natural Buffalo Meat 8. Organic Hawthorn berries 9. UDO's Blend Oil 10. Raw, Organic Almonds You can sun dry any of the veggies and foods. You can blend them into powders if needed. The hawthorn and Cayenne would keep my heart and blood strong. Any powdered version of Cayenne can be used medicinally. Same with Hawthorn. The buffalo meat to handle any strenuous tension and energy output as well as muscle fabrication. The total tonic is really everything you need. The eggs are an all around protein food. Total Tonic for medicinal use. Apple because the best over fruit you can get. Almonds have all the Amino acids necessary. The coconut will handle the local problems and the local sun etc. The spring water can be boiled and used for liquids etc. Anyway, you get the idea. The blender so I can mix things up any old way I want. Guest guest
Zeb ... interesting. I was just curious as to what would surface as the top 10 necessities for good health. <s> I thought a juicer would have been the appliance though. Guest guest
LOL, I normally would do a juicer but see you can always "eat" whatever you can juice. You can blend it as well and "press" the juice out. Also the blender can blend meat and any such thing you can imagine but you may not be able to do this with any old juicer. Hm.... Juicer is a good choice.... Maybe the better one too Zenny. Juicing onions...yuck! Anyway. I also thought if you spent enough time using blender to make a meat paste mixed with raw eggs with veggies and such as well you could spread paste on wax paper or coconut shell and make life "sundried" wafers that can be transported rather than lugging around a ton of stuff. Anyway. Zeb - zengirl04 herbal remedies Tuesday, April 12, 2005 9:16 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - Reality TV or Lobbyist Zeb ... interesting.
