Guest guest
Can anyone suggest any herbal remedies for what I term " brain fog " please. I'm 44 and maybe age has something to do with this !!! Regards, Gary
Guest guest
__________ Hi Gary, Not yet...I minimize my "Senior Moments" with most of the following: Since the brain cells are about 60% EFAs...keep your brain well oiled with omega-3 oils EFAs: Sea greens, spinach and other leafy greens, cold water fish, and shellfish have plenty of DHA and EPA oils; also have sprouts, certified organic eggs plus Omega-3, (these are the ones I buy...and make a coconut milk shake with 2) olive, canola, flax oils, salmon oil, sardines, brown rice, apples, oranges, grapefruit, cantaloupe, peas, whole grains, legumes, and beans. Add glutathione foods for neurotransmitter energy: certified organic eggs, spinach, parsley. Make a brain food: mix 2 TBS each: lecithin for phosphatides and memory lapses, brewer's yeast for myelin formation. Take 1-2 TBS daily. (...and remember BORAGE...the # 1 herb...and all the B Vitamins for Brain Power...) A glass or two of wine at dinner appears to boost brain activity. BRAIN BOOSTER (for one large drink) Juice one bunch parsley, 4 carrots, a -1- inch piece or preserved burdock or ginseng root, -2- stalks celery, and -1- teaspoon snipped, dry sea greens for EPAs. ....and remember walking and breathing exercises to improve cerebral oxygen levels... Be Blessed in this Knowledge...JOYintheMorning... ________________________ gazbow27 <gazbow27 wrote: Can anyone suggest any herbal remedies for what I term "brain fog" please. Guest guest
Hi There, There are many things that can cause brain fog, such as yeast over growth, slow circulation... Have you tried Ginko Biloba? You want the whole leaf not the standardized. I use an excellent herbal formula, and Mountain Rose Herbs has an excellent brain Tea that will help anyone! Cayenne is an excellent supplement to take on a regular basis, it not only increases circulation without affecting blood pressure or the heart, but it restores the veins...and make them pliable again, it cleans them out, and actually restores blood pressure. It is also a muscle relaxant and is excellent for pain. It will increase the strength on anything else you take with it, so please keep this in mind when you are taking things, and NEVER take it with any medication. Hope this helps, let me know :-) herbal remedies , " gazbow27 " <gazbow27> wrote: > Can anyone suggest any herbal remedies for what I term " brain fog " > please. Guest guest
You might consider adding Gotu Kola to the Ginko Biloba, seems to work better on some people in combination, use 1 part Ginko to 1/2 part Goto Kola, unless you buy the formula already encapsulated in combination. Another good herb is called Vinpocetine comes from the Periwinkle, lots of research done on this,it is excellent for short term memory and head trauma, works better the longer you take it. Guest guest
Hi Gary: Ginko Biloba should help with brain fog as it relaxes and dialates blood vessels. In turn, this will increase blood flow to the brain. I personally like to drink Ginko tea. However, you shouldn't take Ginko if you're using any kind of blood thinning medicine or have a history of clotting disorder. If you're not sure or are on other medications, please sk your doctor. Also, try to monitor when you're feeling foggy. Is it all day long or is it only during a certain time? Lastly, are you under a lot of stress? Stress can make us feel unfocused or foggy. I'm 44 and maybe age has something to do with this !!! > > Regards, > Gary ********* If you can find a " causative " agent that could be contributing to the " brain fog " , you may have better luck turning it around. A few things to consider, (if you haven't already....) Do you take any chemical pharmaceuticals at all? Either OTC or Prescription types? Brain fog type symptoms are VERY common side- effects of many, many drugs. Do you eat organically, or " conventionally " ? Conventional type foods contain many chemical food additives that pass the blood/brain barrier and/or have shown neuorotoxic effects. These types of additives are prohibited in organic foods. Are you eating lots of " processed " foods that lack true nutrition? Do you have exposure to any types of chemical fumes, either at work or home? Have you purchased any new " home furnishings " that could be releasing " formaldehyde " fumes? Do you use natural non-toxic personal care products/toiletries and household cleaners that do not emit harmful fumes? If you have chlorine-treated water, do you use a filter to remove it when taking showers/baths etc? Do you use a cell-phone, or live close to any high-tension power lines, and/or cell towers? If you can find the reason behind the brain-fog symptoms in the first place, and remove them (or at least lessen exposure), the herbal remedies suggested to you will be much more successful in treating them. You also won't be continuing to put the body under the stress of these things that may be causing the symptoms to begin with. Many times, removal of the agent causing the symptoms will require no further " treatments " at all. Jan (in Michigan)

Guest guest
> Hi! I had that at one time, and started taking Omega 3 pills (or fish oil), and it cleared right up! Fish oil is brain food. Try it for a couple of weeks and see if it doesn't help. Jen > > > > > Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: > 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. > 2. Guest guest
Cheryl, I agree. I find that just thinking on the level that the kids are on..it makes my mind tired. L These children are complicated lil creatures, think the strangest things..do even stranger things, and justify doing nothing quite well...but gosh they are beautiful while they torment us. And if we find something to study on our own time (I skip the dishes every few days L) then our brain gets exercise and becomes a powerful entity once again.
