Guest guest
Tell it to the Mountain Irene. As Winston Chirchill once said, (I think) “Never, Never, ….NEVER give up.” Yea! Zeb herbal remedies [herbal remedies ] On Behalf Of imclark Wednesday, May 18, 2005 8:08 AM herbal remedies RE: Herbal Remedies - male adult ADD Jeff, My son was diagnosed also with ADD at the age of six. I tried " medicine " for him which took away his personality. No Thank YOU! He's 23 years old, still very spirited, lovely individual. He works a full time job in an office environment. We went with individually counseling on how to deal with him as an individual. I did not encourage him to conform to the " normal " standard. Ben was not " normal " , he was one of way a kind. I do not believe in setting a standard that says you " must " do this in order to be " normal " . Does Ben have difficult days, yes, but he has learned HE is responsible for his decisions and HIS behavior. He makes some mistakes, don't we all. He is willing at the age of 23 to say I screwed up today and lost my temper and said some bad things, but he also knows it is his responsibility to go makes amends to anyone he might have harmed with his words. In my opinion, if you came to this list to learn about alternative methods for your " unbalanced body " then you should be listening instead of trying to get us to believe in " medical " methods. Very few of us on this list are interested in the " medical " route. We've been there personally and we have all learned that those methods will not work for us. If it's working for you so well, why are you searching for other options. In order to heal yourself both physically and mentally, you have to give up the poisons that the doctors has offered you for many years. If you do not believe in this option, than this is probably the wrong list for you. You can't have it both ways in my opinion. This is NOT True. What about Strattera? Also, Concerta, Ritalin and Adderal are different from each other. This is a scam, and theres no reason to discuss it, just search for proof. Drugging children is a dangerous and potentially deadly activity. It has ruined millions of lives and actually killed many kids. The word specialist means nothing to me. I started to live a higher quality life when I stopped assuming that specialists and authorities who learn what they learn from other specialists and authorities know what theyre talking about. I would have changed specialists. Pull the string. Find me the scientific proof. No one needs a poison in his body to learn better. I hear youbut I find it most unfortunate that some here are so inclined to give the finger to the medical field, that they are clearly blinded, and unable to arrive at some form of a safe conclusion where medicine may be of benefit for an ADDr. The only so called WORD I have heard is Ritalin. Why must we focus on the extreme? Or is that where some of you chose to surf? Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. Also, Concerta, Ritalin and Adderal > are different from each other. ********* Indeed they are different, and they all come with their own unique set of horrendous side-effects too. Concerta, Strattera, Ritalin can cause liver injury/failure, Adderall can cause sudden death/stroke, and Ritalin has been shown to cause chromosome abnormalities, which is a good indicator of cancer capability. One thing I haven't seen mentioned on this thread, is avoiding the chemical additives that are so abundent in " conventional " foods. Altho many people may " blame " sugar *which can be a culprit*, the chemical additives are known to cause and/or exacerbate " add/adhd " type symptoms too. These include the chemical sweeteners, dyes, flavors, & preservatives that are so common in " processed " foods marketed towards children. These additives are derived from petroleum/coal tar (fuels), which is no wonder that they may cause a host of kids to act like they have consumed rocket fuel. I personally know of several kids that settled down nicely (and actually played with their siblings, instead of constantly bickering/fighting) after removing these chems from their diets. (These petro additives are prohibited in organic foods.) Some of these drugs have had new " black box warnings " issued on them, and if I remember right, Canada has banned Adderall due to children's deaths. I pulled up some of the side effects (listed below) on the drugs you mentioned. The lists are not " all inclusive " , so they are only indicative of " some " of the damage these drugs may cause. To get complete listings of adverse side-effects, contact the drug makers and request their Product Information Sheets on them. Are the drugs worth the risks? FWIW, Jan (in Michigan) For the drugs you mentioned: Concerta: Headache Abdominal pain Dry mouth Difficulty in sleeping (insomnia) Changes in mood Drowsiness Hair loss (alopecia) Decreased appetite Awareness of your heartbeat (palpitations) Dizziness Nausea and vomiting Pain in the joints (arthralgia) Nervousness Rise in blood pressure Increased heart rate Rash or itching Abnormal involuntary movements (twitching or tics) Liver problems Strattera: Tell your health care provider if you: have or had liver problems.
