Guest guest
We all know about flax seed oils great benefits for preventing and treating cancer (and other diseases). I understand it's to be mixed with cottage cheese because the cottage cheese helps you absorb it. What does cottage cheese have that makes it so special? If you don't like cottage cheese, what else could you eat it with? (Note (in case you didn't know): Don't use flax seed oil if you're pregnant or nursing.) Guest guest
Hmmm, rats have different nutritional requirements than people, that might be part of that. Of course to OVER-eat any food, even a nutritious one, is not good. But Flax is a healthy food. It's up to each person to study up and choose for themselves, but I know if I were pregnant I wouldn't stop eating flax seeds (I don't use refined foods, I use whole foods, so I eat the whole seed, not just the oil). - Bill Kingsbury Tuesday, December 11, 2007 7:35 PM Re: Flax seed oil and what? --- At 08:58 AM 12/11/2007, Bea Bernhausen wrote:>> Why not use flax oil when preg or nursing?--- from:<http://healthgate.partners.org/browsing/LearningCenter.asp?fileName=21714.xml & title=Flaxseed>Safety Issues[...] Because of its potential effects on estrogen, pregnant or breastfeeding women should probably avoid flaxseed. Guest guest
Perhaps the flaxseed oil has a similar effect to castor oil - which is often used to "speed things up" as you know, when people are pregnant Jane - Amy G Dalin Wednesday, December 12, 2007 2:12 PM Re: Flax seed oil and what? But according to the article I am including below you need 3/4 cup of yogurt to replace 1 tablespoon of cottage cheese. It is also important to place the ingredients in a blender and mix it thoroughly according the the article. I suggest you read the whole thing but most of the mixing information is at the bottom half of the article. http://www.cancertutor.com/Cancer/Budwig.html Jack > > Hi all - Probably most of you know about the great cancer (and other > disease) preventative of flax seed oil and cottage cheese. > > The way I understand it, the cottage cheese helps you absorb the flax > seed oil. > > I'm looking for alternatives to cottage cheese. Guest guest
I take both whey and fish oil these days. After re-reading Duncan's revision of the Budwig diet, I just started taking them at the same time. No idea if I need the Budwig diet, but it can't hurt me. Guest guest
I've read you could use yogurt but you had to strain out the whey. I used cheese cloth over a larger yogurt container. Strained in the frig for about 6 hours. Just put the lid on to hold the cheese cloth in place. You have to use low fat unflavored yogurt. Someone following the budwig diet told me how to do that. You can do the same thing with kefir. I was doing a search on the net trying to find it verified an came across a site with a lot of recipes for the flaxseed. They mention a book Dr Budwig released but I'm not sure which of the recipes are hers. Dr. Budwig added fresh grind-ed flaxseed to the Flaxseed oil an Quark (cottage Cheese) mix. Flaxseed goes bad very quickly after grinding so they have to be fresh ground. Quark is not sold here so cottage cheese is a substitute for it. http://www.budwigflax.com/Articles/flax-seed-recipes.html Caution: They sell books. I sometimes don't trust a site with something to sell. I know that's not logical but safer on the net. They have a good article on Budwig too if you want to read that. http://www.budwigflax.com/Articles/DrBudwig.html Hope this helps. Guest guest
Not sure if this has been answered but with my having breast cancer that I am successfully treating with carrot juice and tumeric an internet friend that I have known for about 6 years confessed to me that she has treated her mother (stage 4 breast cancer in spine bedridden etc) with flax yogurt and honey. Two years later went from 400 cancer blood measure to 45. She was on it 3 months. No sign of progression. So yes yogurt will work. , Alobar <Alobar wrote: > > You might want to take a look at this: > http://members.shaw.ca/duncancrow/Budwig-diet-revision.html > > Alobar > > On 12/9/07, ronixo <ronixo wrote: > > Hi all - Probably most of you know about the great cancer (and other > > disease) preventative of flax seed oil and cottage cheese. > > > > The way I understand it, the cottage cheese helps you absorb the flax > > seed oil. > > > > I'm looking for alternatives to cottage cheese.
