Guest guest
Mercury is the second most poisonous substance known to man, just behind plutonium. So how poisonous are your silver mercury fillings? Well, it might interest you to know that when your dentist removes one, he must dispose of it in a special container as a hazardous waste, by law. Yet, he will probably tell you that it was perfectly safe while embedded in your mouth. Apparently the EPA is more concerned about the dumpster's exposure to mercury than yours. Below is an article from Dr. Al Sears (http://www.alsearsmd.com/content/) about the mercury we're chewing on. (Or if you'd prefer, you'll find an outstanding video demonstrating the danger of mercury fillings at the end of this article, from The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology.) Here's some news… sounds good at first… the US House of Representatives held a hearing in November about how dangerous mercury is. They heard testimony like one gram of mercury (roughly the size of a vitamin capsule) can poison 21 million gallons of water. That's the volume of a good sized lake. Here's the bad part: They didn't really do anything to stop the most damaging source- dentists. Turns out they're the third largest source of mercury pollution in the country but they're different than industrial polluters because if you let them they're going to put the mercury straight into your mouth! The " silver " fillings dentists have been using for over 150 years are actually fifty percent mercury. Someone with a lot of these fillings could have enough mercury in their mouths to poison several lakes. That hasn't kept dentists from using them. In fact the American Dental Association still says they're safe. And last month's congressional hearing didn't even take up the question of whether mercury fillings are dangerous to your health, only whether they do environmental damage. This is shocking when you consider that we've known for years that mercury is an extremely powerful and dangerous poison. Mercury exposure can cause permanent damage to the central nervous system, kidneys, liver, and digestive tract. It causes irreversible hormonal imbalances. It's also extremely harmful to the unborn. Symptoms of mercury toxicity also include: * hair, teeth, and skin loss * sleep disturbances * memory loss * muscle weakness * sweating * tingling, burning, or pain * high blood pressure * rapid heart beat * swelling It is a fact that the action of chewing releases trace amounts of mercury from fillings into your mouth – with every bite. That kind of constant, low-level exposure may cause health problems. While the government and the ADA ignore the issue, other groups have taken action. The Foundation for Toxic-Free Dentistry has compiled statistics from six studies on a total of 1,569 patients. The patients reported on their symptoms before and after their mercury amalgams were removed. These included everything from vision problems to depression. Most saw dramatic improvement once the fillings were gone. If you need to get a filling put in, ask your dentist to use bonded resin ceramics. These are safe and tooth-colored, so they won't even be noticeable. And if you already have " silver " fillings in your mouth, have your dentist remove them. Be sure to have someone who knows what they're doing take them out. It can actually lead to more mercury in your system. And ask your dentist about safety procedures to insure that you're not exposed to the mercury in the fillings during the removal process. To help get rid of mercury, you can take chlorella, a form of dried algae. You can find it in most health food stores. Take one 500 mg capsule per day initially. Because some people have a sensitivity to chlorella, you'll want to pay attention if you start experiencing nausea or burping. This means your body can't tolerate it and you should go for another option. If you don't have a sensitivity, work up slowly over one to two weeks to a dose of one teaspoon (ten tablets or capsules) per day until your mercury levels come down. Fresh cilantro has also been shown to remove mercury from the body. About a teaspoon a day should work. Finally, garlic is also a good option. Three cloves of fresh garlic per day should help. Dr. Al Sears (http://www.alsearsmd.com/content/) *My Comments: As Dr. Sears mentions, dentists are the third leading source of environmental mercury pollution, but they're actually the number one source of mercury exposure in humans. There are numerous people who have recovered from chronic illnesses after having their fillings removed. I've noticed a good portion of the testimonials I've read have been recoveries from fibromyalgia, which is actually fluoride poisoning (another gift from the ADA) http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/fibromyalgia.html#cause. Mercury causes the body to store larger amounts of fluoride, so it could be that ridding oneself of mercury fillings allows the body to release larger amounts of fluoride and facilitate recovery from fibromyalgia. That's just a theory of mine. I'd like to emphasize what Dr. Sears said about finding the right dentist to remove your fillings. Make sure you find someone who uses the latest technique, because otherwise the mercury will leak and be absorbed into your system during the removal. Dr. Swidler of Arizona is known in the US as a leading expert on this matter, and you can read the details of his meticulous procedure at http://www.medicinewheeldental.com/mercremoval.html. He and his assistant actually wear vapor masks to protect themselves during the removal, and his patients are given oxygen. It's important to be sure you are in good health when you have your fillings removed, and as mentioned above by Dr. Sears, as well as by Health Ranger Mike Adams http://www.naturalnews.com/007851.html, make sure you take extra nutritional supplements to help your immune system handle the mercury. Dr. Sears says not everyone can tolerate chlorella, so I suggest trying Modifilan http://www.modifilan.com/, which will also bond with mercury and remove it from the body. About half of all dentists in the US still use mercury fillings, and they believe based on what they were taught in school that it's perfectly safe being drilled into your head. The rest use the tooth-colored option mentioned above by Dr. Sears. The number one cause of tooth loss is the consumption of fluoride, such as in drinking water. The best thing you can do to prevent cavities is to eat healthy, avoid sugar, and drink non-fluoridated water. This is even more important than dental care, which in excess is actually harmful to teeth. Japanese researchers have invented a toothpaste that fills cavities while they're still at the microscopic phase. If it becomes a hit, it could help put an end to dentistry's mercury madness http://www.naturalnews.com/005254.html. As promised, here is an alarming video about the reality of mercury fillings from The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology: OVERDOSE on the Red Pill of Truth: http://redpillreich.blogspot.com/ Olivia L.
