Today's Globe and Mail printed the best press article ever written about vitamin D,The vitamin D miracle: Is it for real?

 

Many of you asked what you can do to help. One thing you can do is add a comment on the Globe and Mail's website after you read the above article. Martin Mittelstaedt, the Globe and Mail writer, would appreciate your effort as editors often judge stories on the amount of comments they generate. Martin's vitamin D expertise may eventually earn him a Pulitzer Prize. Again, read the above article and then post a comment at the end of the article. Tell readers about your experience with vitamin D, either good or bad.

 

Also, the Vitamin D Council is starting a publicity campaign about the dangers of vitamin D deficiency. We have produced three videos and paid to have them aired in a test market. You can look at all three videos at http://youtube.com/vitamindcouncil. Unfortunately, the ads did not generate any donations to the Council but they did increase website page views considerably.

 

Our paper about vitamin D and influenza, On the epidemiology of influenza, was just published two weeks ago by an open access BioMed journal. The entire article, which is already the most accessed article in Virology Journal for the last 30 days, is available for free viewing at http://www.virologyj.com/articles/top/browse.asp. Just click on "pdf " to the right of the abstract to read the entire paper. Be warned, it is more about technical epidemiological aspects of influenza than about vitamin D.

 

Finally, I forgot to mention the one day seminar in San Diego is free . It is about 6 hours with plenty of time for questions. I will not be speaking but I'll be in attendance, thanks to a grant from Lifespan Nutrition, and I'd love to meet you.
