Don't know if any of you have been experiencing ringing in the earsbut I sure have. I have been observing aerial spraying over the Ohioskies for about 2 years. I have been led to do some research onTelescopes and have found some interesting information that I wouldlike to share.I came across a project going on right now known as LOFAR. It is theworld's biggest radiotelescope. It operates at frequencies from 30to 240 MHz. It is located in Western Australian. It also deals inreionization of the atmosphere. LOFAR stands for Low FrequencyARray.http://www.lois-space.net/pictures.htmlAnother one that also has ionospheric radars is MIT-HAYSTACKOBSERVATORY it is located off Route 40 Westford, MA 01886-1299http://www.haystack.edu/haystack/haystack.htmlhttp://web.haystack.mit.edu/lofar/overview.htmlYet another one is found at the summit of Mauna Kea, Hawaii. It isknown as the James Clerk Maxwell telescope. Now for the really interesting one! It seems the Vatican is involvedin building a telescope in Arizona. The Apache people have tried toblock it but to no avail. A very interesting read can be found athttp://users.skynet.be/kola/mtgrah.htmNow, I'm no rocket scientist, but I can't believe all thismanipulation of waves and such is good for the environment or thecreatures that inhabit this world. They are searching the stars andin the mean time failing to see what damage they are causing righthere and now. Very perverted logic.

Perhaps the author changed or deleted the page? Anyway, one can get to

http://users.skynet.be/kola/ but I couldn't find reference to

what you posted. Some other interesting stuff, though.

Apparently there are a number of issues as to why people don't want

telescopes up there. Among other things, it turns out the mountain is

sacred to the " San Carlos Apache Indians. Dzil nchaa si an, or

Big-Seated Mountain as traditional Apaches call it, is home to the ga'an

spirit dancers. The Apaches want their prayers to flow unimpeded from the

summit. "

There is an interesting article on Mt Graham in Arizona, the uses

proposed for it and the issues surrounding it. It's a bit old, 1993, but

still interesting. Gives a pretty balanced view of all the

issues..http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-13975898.html

This site

http://clavius.as.arizona.edu/vo/R1024/Kresge_final.html is the

Final Technical Report, March 1, 1999 to March 1, 2000

regarding the Kresge Foundation's Grant to the Vatican's Observatory.

From what I could find, pretty much looks like a done deal......

Lynn

PS. Don't know if big telescopes are the cause of this wretched

high-pitched sound I constantly hear, but sure wish it would stop!!
