Guest guest
Welcome, Dr. SOH Kwang-Sup, to our Discussion Lists! Dr SOH, Cead Mile Mile Failte! [One Hundred Thousand Thousand Welcomes] - the Traditional Irish welcome for an honoured guest, as spoken in the old Irish- Gaelic language. Colleagues, on your behalf, Attilio and I are honoured to welcome our Korean Colleague, Prof. Dr. SOH Kwang-Sup to the Chinese Medicine, PA-L and PVA-L Lists. Dr. SOH is a member and coordinator of a unique research team in Souith Korea. The team consists of Oriental Medical Doctors, Engineers, Biologists, Biophysicists and other support staff. The work of this LARGE research team is being funded OFFICIALLY by the South Korean Government. This means that the Korean Govmt takes very seriously the startling findings from preliminary research by Dr. SOH and his colleagues. Watch this space for absolutely staggering implications for acupuncture (AP) and TCM if their suspicions are correct! The main aim of their work is to research the evidence that may support of refute the PHYSICAL REALITY of a NEW ANATOMICALLY-CONFIRMED microduct and microcorpuscular system. They have ALREADY confirmed that structures previously UNRECOGNISED EXIST. See:http://tinyurl.com/54smr Another Korean (Dr. KIM Bong-Han, of Pyongyang University, North Korea) claimed in 1963 that he had " found " the anatomical infrastructure for he Jing-Lui- Mai. He called it the Kyungrak Ststem, a microsystem of ducts and corpuscles that became known as the Bonghan System. Other researchers in the 1960s and 1970s could NOT confirm his findings and claimed that his initial research was a hoax, or an artefact. Interest in the system died then. It is rumoured that the unfortunate Dr. KIM took his own life. If that is true, I pray God's Mercy & Love for KIM's Soul. Then, just some years ago, using highly modern and sophisticated equipment, Dr. SOH's team found anatomical icrostructures that seemed to confirm Dr. KIM's amazing claims. Some months ago, Dr. SOH addressed the IVAS Congress in Oostende to report his most recent findings. Because here were parallel lectures in progress, the attendance at Dr. SOH's briliant lecture was very small. Because I believe that SOH's team may be onto something of enormous importance to the credibility of the channel-point ststem, Attilio and I decided to invite him to discuss his findings and their implications to a very large audience. These three lists are three of the mst influential lists on AP & TCM. We have invited Dr. SOH to join out discussion groups so that we may discuss, in depth, the very latest research on whether of not a PHYSICAL-MICROANATOMICAL infrastructure exists for the Jing-Luo-Mai, as postulated in classical acupuncture. I expect that many issues of disagreement or opposing arguments will arise on this topic. That is OK; indeed it is WELCOME. However, I ask ALL members to bear in mind that Dr. SOH is new to these Lists. He may not be familiar with the hard discussions / criticisms that can arise on such lists. My experience of the Korean people is that they are extremely polite and courteous. I ask ALL participants to be equally courteous in discussion even if you may disagree with anything that Dr. SOH may have to say. It is perfectly acceptable to argue an opposing case, but it should be done with respect and courtesy. Dr. SOH is an Honoured Member of PA-L and PVA-L on MY invitation. I will summarily expel anyone who may flame in this discussion. There will be no further warning on this. I hope that Attilio will take the same line if any member of the TCM List flames Dr. SOH. Dr. SOH, Welcome again. When you wish to email the Membership of all THREE lists, you must use ALL THREE List addresses, i.e., you must send copies to: (PA-L >,<PVA- L >,<Chinese Medicine > Now: 1. Would you please like to begin by telling us what your team found, and what the next steps in your research will be. 2. Would you also like to discuss HOW you might confirm whether or not your duct-system corresponds with the classical pathways of the channels (Jing), Collaterals/Connecting Channels (Luo) and Mai (Vessels - Ren, Du, Chong, Dai, etc). What is the Bonghan Duct system? Kind regards, --- Attilio D'Alberto BSc (Hons) TCM MATCM Doctor of (Beijing, China) attiliodalberto tel: +44 (0) 208 658 5544 mobile: +44 (0) 7786198900 www.attiliodalberto.com --- [] 23 November 2004 17:47 attilio D'Alberto Add Prof. SOH Kwang-Sup <kssoh to TCM List ? Hi Attilio, Prof. SOH Kwang-Sup <kssoh is the leader of the Seoul (Korea) team researching the histological microstructure of the " Bonghan Duct " system. I have added his email address to the PA-L and PVA-L Lists. Dr. SOH indicated in a mail to me that he would also like to join YOUR List. In case that he forgot to send the correct email command to your server, could you add his name directly (using the ADD link at the bottom of the INVITE page of your List Server. IMO, members of all 3 Lists would benefit greatly from an open discussion with Dr. SOH on this topic. It would be a terrific PR boost for acupuncture (shoch to the opponents of acupuncture) if the Korean team can confirm the presence of this unique duct system in selected areas of the body SURFACE that correspond with the classical pathways of the 14 Main Channels! Let me know when Dr. SOH is a Member of TCM List. I will not start the discussions on the Kyungrak System until then.
