Guest guest
Hi, Yes I am setting up links with my Sri Lankan contacts both in the UK and Sri Lankan BuddhistTemples and Ayurvedic community in Colombo many of whom I know personally. One of my friends, Professor Amarasinghe Director of the Ayurvedic Research Institute in Colombo is helping to set up links there for me so we can follow through with a project. I am involved in a Sri Lankan Buddhist temple and Cultural Centre in London (PLaistow) and sending out a container of food, clothes, tents, boats, engines etc which is leaving on Wednesday by ship. The idea is to locate a community/village/school etc in Sri Lanka to follow through with support much like the twinning of towns in France and the UK. I have got a local school, the Roman Catholic church and the block of flats where I live (1,200 flats!) involved in the project. If anyone wants to be involved and help/donate put forward ideas, manpower, skills please get in touch with me. I plan to go out for 3 weeks to Sri Lanka to lecture to the Ayurvedic University (Institute of Indiginous Medicine) and Ayurvedic doctors and this may be happening in April or May and I can coordinate things further when I am out there. Thanks and but for the grace of God....................... Nadia Nadia Brydon MNIMH Dip Phyt, MRCHM. Dip Ac. MAR. Guest guest
The organization, Tzu-Chi Foundation, with which I have been a volunteer since 1993, has sent relief teams to several countries impacted. The organization has been involved in international relief effort in many countries and is experienced in assessing, planning, and execution of the recovery effort. Along with the volunteers in many countries, I have been involved in local fund raising in the last few days. See the following web site for details: www.tzuchi.org. Guest guest
useful information. thanks....clearly it is not just how many (over 160,000 confirmed dead), or how much money needed, but how long ...i.e. how many years the survivers in S Asia would take to rebuild their capacity for Health. isnt it true that tcm and wm practitioners have volunteering roles to play in rehabilitation.
