I am sort of catching up and may be off the mark:

Cupping is much like the Biblical supping, a lot depends on who you are

partaking

the experience with. Some heretic thoughts:

If this is a person who has delayed clotting time, and you think of

cupping, don't.

He or she will bruise and take the devil of a time to heal the exudate,

which will entertain

you by all the colors in a morose rainbow. Or not clot and give you an

entertaining

afternoon.

All venules are not created equal. Some come into being just for you,

and if you lance

one and cup it, it will exude onto the skin, and when the patient is

driving home, under

the skin, leading to encounters of the unpleasant kind.

The cup is as versatile as the one which carries wine. One can lance and

cup, ibuki-moxa

and cup, thread-moxa and cup, stick-moxa and cup, or cup with no moxa in

sight.

One can gua sha and cup, though this is a wine for the more hardy

partaker. Gua sha can be

of the respectable kind, where some redness is streaked by a civil

effulgence, and everyone

goes home happy.

Occasionally gua sha will open the floodgates of the third kind, when

the streaking takes on a life

of it's own. Exudate begins to look like seepage, or worse. I have seen

things come out

which are not spoken of in gentle parlors, nor in good company, which

this forum is, and in which

case I will not vouchsafe further. In such illustrious cases one will

rather not cup, for

with the pressure differential, who knows what else will exude.

Cup with Gua sha otherwise is a marriage made in heaven. And that is the

reason perhaps

that when things have become predictable, sudden lurches happen.

Exudate types by cupping?

If by skin and subcutaneous level, it ought to be Wei qi and skin based

stagnation, and one

thinks of a brand new Yang Wei disorder who wants to grow into a Yin Wei

big brother.

If by channels, this is functional qi which may have stagnated, or any

number of unwelcome

guests who have settled into the empty spaces.

If by vessels, this is Blood and all it's unpleasant by-products, all of

the stagnating kind.

A large part of gua sha cup exudate takes this form.

If from organs via back shu portals, this is a heavier and more chronic,

more complex condition

which should be actively followed up by alternate intervention.

The oil shift:

Or the cup drag, which at times looks like drag racing, is admissible in

one case and verboten in

ten others.

Don't like the idea of doing it for cellulite. Rather do it as part of a

larger intervention, excuse

me, I am old school.

Cup pressure varies amd this regulates what you are trying to do.

-10% of external pressure - slide on skin and a simple redness results

-20% of external pressure - probably will slide will difficulty and you

arebreaking capilaries

and venules and causing microscopiv damage.

Good cup sliding should fall in between the two, even when these are

arbitary and not scientific

gradations.

As to cupping around the breast [if I read that correctly] I read

somewhere that that is forbidden

or something l;ike that.

In any case it take a hardy soul to embark upon that process. And not to

forget the very

silent blip about to happen in a taller man or woman, or a man or woman

with a

taller than usual torso, which is a spontaneous pneumothorax [sP].

I have never heard of this happening with a cupping at the breast, but

such cases are under

reported as a genre, and the blip may happen long after the cupping and

not be connected.

Has nayone heard of such an accident?

Dear Dr,

YOU KNOCK MY SOCKS OFF! That has to be one of the most eloquent and

entertaing (and informative) posts I have read, though i must say that i

often read your posts with a grand smile on my face.

I must say that i have never cupped around the breast ( no need to

really), but simply extrapolated based on the advertizing literature

which clogs my desk at times.

But I do believe that any strong stimulation on the breasts help to

stimulate them and increase the size. Possessing a set myself, I have

noted very wide degrees of size over my lifetime, and can attest to

the success of overt stimulation via said taoist circulation of

breast (I forgot to mention that they need 360 circulations per

day) or simply a new lover!

Best Wishes

Anita
