Yeah, except that I did do it the expensive way for the first year I was open. Didn't make any difference. I billed one patient for a hundred or so, she paid and didn't keep her next appointment. The whole year! Now I bill four patients $25 each and they see me several times a month. I make more money with lower fees, but not enough to be sustainable. I still maintain that an organic change is necessary in US health care financing, not just acupuncture. My fellow students most all had family or sweetheart money put them through school and set them up. I can think of only one or two others who worked full time to get through as I did. To carry it all on your own back for 10 years with no relief in sight and then get all the criticism from the daddy's girls . . . (of both genders, <s>) All these great ideas, they all require front money to put in place, before you make your first dime. I think we have two classes of people from the get-go.
