Hello

There is a discussion on TCM for Immune Deficiency.

I have studied this subject for years and I am willing to exchange ideas with

all of you who is interested in it.

Nothing is more important to your health than a well-functioning immune

system. Such ailments and diseases as the common cold, infections, asthma, food

allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, and even cancer are all related to immune

system dysfunction. Immuno-deficiency is a condition in which the immune system

is suppressed by certain factors, making you vulnerable to disease and

infection. It is one of many disorders related to the immune system.

There are some special therapies on it.

Diet and Nutrition

Shiitake mushroom is one of the leading foods recommended by Chinese medicine

practitioners for enhancing immunity.

Chinese Herbs and Herbal Formulas

Many Chinese herbs have strong immunity-enhancing effects. Astragalus is very

well-known for its powerful " non-specific " immune system stimulating capacity,

which works by increasing the numbers and activity of roving white blood cells.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is another powerful tool to regulate the immune system. In China,

people know how energetic they feel after having an acupuncture treatment, and

they will use acupuncture as part of a plan for maintaining perfect health.

This is all nice stuff, but at a layperson's level. This is a

professional group, however, and I don't understand why this basic

information needs to be listed here.

Hello everyone,

I've got a patient that I'd like some help with, and if possible I'd

like to get some documented information on. Mike O. 47 y.o. male with

(had) type II and some type I diabetes. Type I is a auto immune

destruction of the Beta Islet cells of the pancreas.

The authorities at our local hospital are saying that we might be able

to retard this destruction but we will never cure it.

I need as much information on acupuncture for Type I Diabetes, and any

documented

studies that have been done on this subject.

Any world wide web sites would also be helpful, even more specifically

any Websites in China,

Regards Ray Ford

Ray,

Check out Clinical Strategies vol 1 by Kiiko Matsumoto. In it you will find

many cases that deal with treatment for autoimmune dysfunction as well as

blood sugar regulation. She relies upon abdominal confirmation of signs for

treatment and diagnosis. Hope this helps.
