I found a rose petal cookie recipe? Do you want it personally?

I think I would be violating copyrights if I put it down here.

Food scientists in South Korea claim to have developed a rose petal

ice cream which could even help prevent aging.

The National Rural Living Science Institute team used crushed flowers

to flavour and scent the ice cream.

Researcher Han Gui-jung says, apart from dispensing with the need for

artificial colourings, the rose petals could have additional health

benefits.

He said: " Roses have acid-fast materials that help prevent cells from

aging. So, this ice cream could be very popular among women. "

The JoonAng Ilbo newspaper reports the team has applied for a patent

following initial taste tests.

The 'natural rose ice cream' uses petals from marble roses. The

researchers say several manufacturers have already expressed an

interest in their product.

Yumm Yumm,

Send it on to me please :) chrisziggy

I'll check it out tonight when I get home from work and actually get

to my e-mail (right now I'm posting from the group site on my down

time while they are still working on getting all of my work here from

their office in Montana ;) . I'd be one happy lady to try it out -

see how it compares to my recipe :)!

Thanks!

In addition to the Rose Petal Ice Cream recipe, there will be a

recipe for Rose Petal Jam Cookies and some other wonderful rosy

recipes for Valentine's Day :)

Thanks very much - in fragrant anticipation!!

I made a fun, and very easy, " rosy " dessert for my guests at Christmas time

[it's very hot in the Southern hemisphere, so the traditional plum pudding

is not always ideal - even though we have that as well!

For anyone interested - I'll include the recipe below.

Ingredients:

2 litres of top-quality vanilla ice cream [either home made or shop bought]

500g Turkish Delight squares - chopped into little cubes

Rose hydrolat to taste [+-50ml or more] - or 1 drop of genuine rose

essential oil stirred into 5ml honey.

A few fragrant rose petals - just remove the yellow/white bit at the base of

the petals and tea them rest into little pieces [i used petals from my

garden from " Double Delight " and " Duftwolke " roses.

Method:

Slightly soften the ice cream.

Fold in the rose flavouring and petals

Fold in the Turkish Delight cubes

Freeze.

Serve:

Serve generous scoops of ice cream in clear glass bowls, decorated with a

few fresh rose petals, and a sauce of your choice.

I served our Christmas treat with exquisite Vin de Rose liqueur I purchased

whilst in Provence, France.

Enjoy!
