Guest guest
Hi, I know that many spice EOs etc. is sensitizing but I just love the scent of them. So I have made a shea infusion with spices - clove, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg and vanilla and it smells so great. I have made a whipped shea butter out of it (and use mandarine and tangerine eos as well), but before I ever try to sell it I want to make sure it's safe to use on the skin. Guest guest
Sounds Wonderful! I would think that since we consume spices that they would be fine for leave on products. Eo's are so concentrated and chemically different than the actual spice etc.. that I believe that is why they are the sensitizers. However, everyone is different and sensitive in different ways. Someone is bound to not tolerate it, but same for all of our products. Hugs again, Margaret >Hi, >I know that many spice EOs etc. is sensitizing but I just love the >scent of them. Guest guest
In addition to all the wonderful info Butch gave on this subject I will quickly add - YES the actual spices can also be a sensitizing agent, cinnamon being a prime example. Cinnamon spice itself has a high content of its essential oil (some varieties more than others, I've seen cinnamon bark powder ranging from 2.5% oil to 5% oil) and can be both an irritant and sensitizer, so it should be used sparingly. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http:/www.alittleolfactory.com , " ruby_mama2001 <ruby_mama2001> " <ruby_mama2001> wrote: > Hi, > I know that many spice EOs etc. is sensitizing but I just love the > scent of them.
