Can I just say how embarrassed I am watching that stupid morning news program

reporting from Istanbul that keeps goofing on kabobs as though they are the ONLY

food Americans associate with any country that is a part of our current war on

terrorism? Sheesh!! What oafs we look like.

My favorite local shopping place for our kitchen staples is an import store

called Sahadi's. Olives, honey cakes, breads, dates, a thousand different types

of lentils, cheeses, spices. Everything is in barrels or refrigerated in fresh

water, olives by the scoopfuls, freshly made tabouli/baba/hummous/etc. But now

I have to see if they have this Turkish delight and someone mentioned 'lokums'

on another list...yummy hunting to me!!

Sigh
