Hello All:

In an attempt to make a naturally scented vanilla soap, I've decided to

pursue Vanilla Absolute. Although I've never worked with it before, I don't

know the pros and cons of this substance. I would appreciate any input,

ratios, tips, and tricks.

That will be one spendy bar of soap! lol

I would only recommend that when you make the soap, you do HP, that way you

don't have to use as much absolute. Also, when I made mine, I used ground

vanilla beans to swirl it with. Not sure if it helped with scent at all.

Next time I make it I plan to try adding a bit of vanilla bean infused oil

after the cook to see if that scents it at all.

Also, be sure to ask the supplier if the absolute is liquid or a hard resin.

I got some that came from France and it was hard as a rock, which makes it

harder to deal with IMO.
