I might. As you say, time will tell. I've never been too proud or stupid to

admit that I can be and often am as wrong as can be.

" Not sure why .. but I reckon its too late to worry about that. "

I can tell you why it's too late to worry about it, it's begun. What's done

is done and let's get it over with. The rights and wrongs of it will probably

be debated for years. In the end it doesn't matter, because it's being done.

Whether we agree or not. Whether Bush should have waited for a mandate or

not. Whether Saddam has the weapons or not, whether the sun shines or not or

whether your God is on our side or theirs, doesn't matter one bit. It's

history.

The only thing left is the hope that as few people as possible on EITHER side

are hurt.

" I'm happy to see that the US Congress .. Democrats and Republicans, are

behind the President and the Troops "

They have no choice now. Neither do we. We either stand behind him and the

soldiers over there, or we stand behind Hussein. As much as I disagree and

dislike the way things were/are shoved down our throats, as much as I dislike

the way absolutely everything else has been ignored, from the economy, to N.

Korea, to the feelings of his own people, I am now forced into a position of

supporting the president and his decisions.

So. Yes, I support the President, but I sure as hell don't have to like it!

I just hope he brings our people home quickly and safely with as few deaths

and injuries as possible.

Stay safe, the days ahead are going to be very rough there. Already I've

heard of trouble near the southern border of Turkey.

Well .. Kathleen and Ann ...

Maybe you shouldn't make your minds up yet. Maybe you wouldn't feel

down if you had a little faith .. looked at the situation as the glass

being half full instead of half empty.

You might later have to admit that the entire operation was good. Well,

lemme rephrase that .. time may prove that the entire operation was good

but folks can still hold on to it being misguided if they want to. ;-p

There is no way they are going to create a democratic regime with ease.

Nobody expects it. Nobody expects it in Afghanistan either but we gotta

start somewhere. Those who have studied American history and English

history know we stepped on it forty-eleven times before we got it right.

> >But then, today I don't feel at all cheerful.

Me either.

> Me neither

Me neither too. ;-{ ;-p

> >Right or wrong, the whole thing Sucks!

Not sure why .. but I reckon its too late to worry about that.

What sucks is status quo .. what sucks is Saddam now using weapons that

the wimpish inspectors said weren't there .. not the first time either

as the UN Nuclear Regulatory Agency declared Iraq nuclear-free prior to

the Gulf War but later the same inspectors found the nuclear capability

was there.

What sucks is the miserable life the Iraqi folks have been living for

too many years. Folks can do without damn near anything .. except hope.

Any movement in the right direction is good movement regardless of the

speed of the movement. There was no way Iraq would have changed if left

to their own initiative .. Saddam would have passed on in time but his

sons make him look like a Sunday School Teacher.

The fact that so many groups have come together to plan shows even the

casual observer that things as they are now suck .. status quo sucks!

I'm happy to see that the US Congress .. Democrats and Republicans, are

behind the President and the Troops.

Y'all keep smiling, Butch
