Guest guest
Yo Dale, > I was out stomping in the mountains, hills and hollers of TN. Which is perzackly whut this ol' kuntry boy wishes he wuz doing rat now. > While there I heard a very funny rant on a local Knoxville station > about all the wars the French have lost. The only one they won? The > French Revolution - they were fighting themselves. In fact .. its the truth. The French and Indian Wars in the British Colonies of the US and in disputed Canada were fought with the French having something like 8 to 1 odds in their favor .. plus their Indian allies .. and year after year they lost battles and ground to folks with squirrel rifles, homespun clothes and deer skin moccasions. There were some exceptional French soldiers .. but very few exceptional generals .. Marquis de Lafayette being an exception .. but that young feller who had a name about 10 words long began his military training in earnest at age 11 .. and that's all he ever did. > Dale > > p.s. Cinco de Mayo is coming up...it is NOT Mexico's Independence > Day. But enjoy a barbecue and a few cold ones anyway!! One don't gotta have a special occasion to enjoy those nice things. First thing I do when I hit Kentucky or Tennessee each year is head for a Pit Bar-B-Que joint .. and big-time pig out. Folks down South know that there's two kinds of folks whut can't Bar-B-Que worth a dang .. one is white and the other is not Suthran. ;-p Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com ----------------------- > Guy Milliere is French .. and this is his opinion. I have no opinion on > this as I don't know France well .. I do know that Moslem extremists > don't tolerate those who leave the religion .. I know a lot about that. > Moderate Moslems are tolerant people .. not at all different than > tolerant people from any religion.
