Guest guest
Well, My klutziness never ceases to amaze me. I was wax sealing some of the VCO containers (trying to make them leak proof as mentioned the other day) and I walked out of the kitchen for what was supposed to be just a few moments - and I got distracted a little longer than I should have. When I got back to the kitchen the pot of paraffin wax I had warming up was a little too warm and had just started smoking so I removed it from the burner and went to put it outside the back door. Of course on the way outside I spilled some of the hot wax onto much of the top of my bare foot, and now I have a first degree burn with wax sealing it ;-p This actually happened a couple of hours ago. I didn't really take the time to tend to it like I should have because I had to run to a couple of stores before they closed (can't let the kitty go hungry), and I just got back a little while ago, took a few moments to unpack the groceries, feed the baby, and I just looked down at my foot and boy oh boy is it red ... I have my own ideas of what I do for burns, but having this thin layer of wax stuck to the top of my foot is a new one for me - its almost like it melted into my skin. Anyone have any ideas of ways to comfortably remove the wax, so that I can tend to the burn? ... I don't want to go and scrape it off, cause, well, the skin is already rather irritated and in pain without doing that to it for goodness sake! Thanks! Have a great weekend folks! *Smile* Chris (the spastic list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Ouch, I'm wracking my brain to think of something. Would it come off if you used ice on it. It might deaden the area long enough to get the wax off. I honestly don't know what to tell you except that it must have hurt like all get out. Guest guest
Maybe try soaking your foot in cold or icy water will make it come off. Hope you feel better soon~ Lisa - " Evelyn Millican " <edandevmil Saturday, May 31, 2003 12:03 AM Re: Wax Burn
