Guest guest
Everyone, I intro'd Jackie to the group...she's a wonderful person and very knows a bunch. She will be a great addition to the list. In May she visited me and we found many wild herbs on Dewberry Hill. We gathered bergamot and mullien, etc, etc. Yesterday I gathered wild lettuce sap to put in my homemade dewberry wine for a pain killer/ sedative. I gathered short toothed mountain mint and am drying it. It has such a delicate flavor. Jackie brought me some chocolate mint and I planted it and am using the dried that she gave me. It is very powerful and I have a jug of the iced tea in the fridge. Particularily cooling because I'm off grid here with no electricity. Propane fridge. Generator and satellite dish for net. I lurk a lot on the list, but learn. I bought a bunch of tea from Butch and dream of having some Turkish rose oil. I made a great kitchen spray from basic H, water and lavendar oil. And I do love my oregano oil for infection fighting properties. Lap up tons of olive oil when I cook, and bake with VCO. Have printed out that great Summer Newsletter! Diana of Dewberry Hill SBC DSL - Now only $29.95 per month!
Guest guest
Where can you find Chocolate mint. I live in Michigan and I have looked everywhere and can't find it. Julie from Woodsong Herbals sent me slips of Comfrey, valerian and hyssop in the Mail and they are now thriving in my garden. Guest guest
Helen is right it is very invasive. I have a bed 4x8 ft contained by cement sidewalk on three sides and my home on the other side. I am always working on containing it to that area. If you want to grow it you must be prepared to work to contain it. Jackie

Guest guest
Evelyn - Are you SURE you want chocolate mint? I purchased ONE PLANT years ago and am still ripping it our of the gardens. I suggest you plant it in a pot, let it croak during the winter and replant the following year. You would still have tons of it. VERY invasive. -Helen - Where can you find Chocolate mint. Guest guest
I know, but I love it so. Mint smells so good. I Still have some coming up from a plant that died two years ago but oh well. I can't seem to find it around here. MAKE A HAPPY MEMORY EVERY DAY: Evelyn Alternasense Skin Design Products www.alternasense.com - Helen A.
