Yo Kathleen,

> oils in general...

Naaa .. there was no study on any OILS .. there was a URL on the fact

that busy, buzzy bees like to lap up nectar from flowers .. that URL and

many like it was http://www.astroscratchingpad.com/catnip.htm which if

one wanted to extrapolate to the extreme (as some new folks can do) they

could erronously assume that since the bees like the blooms of Catnip

they might chase after folks who are wearing the steam distilled oil.

Of course you and I and most folks know that nectar doesn't make it past

the distillation process .. and we thank the Great Everywhere Spirit for

this cause if it did then all the super-nice EO like Jasmine, Rose,

Ylang Ylang, Neroli and such would be busy, buzzy bee attractors.

> > I did I read it all wrong? I'll have to go back and see what I did

> > wrong...

I don't think there is anything WRONG with what you wrote .. but you

might have forgotten that new folks might not assume there was a some

possibility that Catnip might attract bees .. many of them know nothing

about EO and are like sponges .. soaking up any info they receive ..

which is not a slam on them cause they are starting from tabula rasa.

> I do remember that it was discussed whether or not certain oils while

> repelling Mosquito's MIGHT attract bee's. That's where My story came

> from...

Wasn't really discussed .. it was alleged .. and then I put it to rest.

I thought! But then there are new folks on that list who didn't see

those posts so they might not understand.

> Feeling all confused...

No need .. someone claimed that someone on a cosmetics list said this

and that .. and of course, we know that folks claim all kinds of wild

ass stuff when they aren't held accountable .. so in addition to the

pure logic that should have been enough to stompt the rumor, I had a

professional beekeeper test it .. she poured NEAT :-( Catnip EO on her

arm while robbing the hive .. and reported that they didn't give a crap

one way or the other. ;-p Bottom line .. the claim that Catnip EO was

an attractor of bees was quickly put in the cesspool where it belonged.

Good show .. by the way y'all .. it is already the 4th of July here ..

been so for 45 minutes already .. so I am having a toddy to celebrate

and wishing y'all a safe and happy one and hoping you give a little bit

of thought to what its really all about. :-)

Then I salute you .. cause we need folks who can think more positively

about it than I am. :-(

Hope you are right .. I am not a pessimistic sort .. but I think I know

some of the barriers to that going down .. and its gonna be a long time

afore they are breached .. methinks.

Don't sweat it .. I'm gonna reply (tomorrow) in a manner that will let

the new folks see the entire issue cause I am sure you have a lotta new

folks who didn't see the initial discussion.

Takes less muscles to smile than it does to frown .. and gritting our

teeth can cause us to need caps or some kinda nighttime guard or

whatever. ;-p

Hi, Butch... There is a guy here in Canada, KookyKat.com who is doing a study

based on the bees being attracted to the scent.

I actually forwarded it on to Martin...The results are supposed to be out later

this month.

Just thought you'd be interested..:-)
