Guest guest
Hey David, > Butch, > The anecdotal part was the change in scent after the Rose Otto froze, > not that pure rose otto will freeze at fairly high temperatures. Sorry I misunderstood .. guess I take literally what I think I see and reply to that only. > It never smelled as good, there could be a scientific edxplanation > as when things crystallize, they often form new chemicals. What I understand that is not the case with Rose Otto .. but I will change my tune if we can find any scientific evidence to the contrary. > I.E., when you take ocean salt water, dry it out, add pure water. > It is NOT the same chemicals as it was before evaporating. Because > as the salinity changes, it forms new and different chemicals. True .. I expect that has something to do with oxidation. Not sure. > Now, it is not safe for me to assume that rose otto would do the same > thing, as I don't know as much about rose otto's chemistry. GC/MS tests before and after .. conducted by a lady PhD (Mine) who has specialized in Rose Otto as a part of her thesis .. says it does not change. She was Professor's Baser's assistant. > Let's not forget that graphite and diamonds are nearly the same > crystals. OK. > With grainy shea butter, or chocolate with spots. It's crystallizing. > Crystals are usually pretty sturdy molecules, compared to the non > crystal stuff, that's why they don't taste or feel the same. OK. > My Rose Otto didn't smell the same as before I froze it slushy. > Sorry, that's my perception. No reason to be sorry for one's perception. I have said many times that I think the odor of milk will gag a maggot off a gut wagon .. and I love the odor of chitterlings. The odor of collards is to me .. better on the third day .. some folks think its good for fumigating then. ;-p And finally .. the odor of my ex-wife was never the same .. not as nice for sure .. after her first drunken temper tandrum where she threw a Waterford Crystal bowl at me. I'm sure that is anecdotal but was real enough to me to know that we would probably not grow old together. ;-p > I would assume it's possible the freezing may have changed the > chemical structure. But that's my GUESS. I won't guess .. but I go along with what Professor Mine discovered. > FWIW, > David Roman Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
