Guest guest
Hi Betty, > I totally agree that Mailwasher is great. I hooked up to it last night. Being as I dont' speak programese Chris sent me an email and walked me through the set up .. and I think it is working properly now. ;-P > What it does is download all the new posts to MailWasher. That it does .. and good it is. > You decide if you want to keep, delete, or bounce each post by (ignore > and not check any square) keep, check the delete box to delete (just > that post), or if you check bounce, it will delete, then return it to > the sender and will blacklist that sender so you should no longer > receive posts from that sender. That it does .. and if I can make it work anybody can. One problem and it is not one Mail Washer can fix. MANY of the Bounce choices will not bounce because the sender is not a real email address .. its phoney or its revolving .. and in the cases where it might be legit I see that some must be using their own server cause they hit the button, send out forty-eleven zillion Spam emails .. then shut the server down quickly. Still .. they are Black Listed .. but no bounce. I think that as soon as software is made the folks doing the Spamming will figure a way to get around it .. likely it is that they are good enough to build the software as well as get around it. Mail Washer has problems blocking some emails automatically .. those with no letters in the sender's address or subject line .. Spammers figured out how to make it happen using numbers and punctuation marks. > After you have checked thru all your new posts, hit process mail and > it will send it to OE or whatever your e-mail program is. That it does .. and I like it. > MailWasher is freeware. http://www.mailwasher.net/download.php And I recommend y'all consider getting it .. and I thank Betty for putting out the info on it. :-p > Betty Ott Y'all keep smiling.
